Hallo Civ III Fans
I am working on new Terrain ideas like the game Legion / Chariots. I think this is the optimum for our beautiful Civ III and sandris new icons can run and fight beautiful over this.

Looks interesting.

First index to 256 colours,
then select all and copy (cntrl-c),
then find the value of the last two colours on the palette and write them down,
then find the green and pink (will be close to but not necessaraly exactly 0,255,0 and 255,0,255) colours on the palette and change them to the two values that you wrote down,
then change the values of the last two colours to green 0,255,0 and pink 255,0,255,
then finally past (cntrl-v) your picture back over the new palette.

Hallo Pounder
Thanks for your quick answer.
I think - this is to difficult for me. Can I produce my graphics in civ III pad-format and can I send you this. You can transfer this to a ready palette.
Here are my first work for you to transfer in pcx-file 256:

You could either use those in lieu of regular hills, or add them to the regular terrain and irrigation files, where you have plenty of duplication anyway. I agree with Pounder - you'll be so much happier if you can learn to do this yourself - you know, teach a man to fish, etc......

Give a man fire, keep him warm for a day. Light a man on fire, keep him warm for the rest of his life?

Thanks H.Balck

Everything looks good!

I Think you are referring to Varwnos' tutorial.

Step 8 is just pasting your work into the file with the corrected palette, if you have gone through and done all the other steps, the last one is the easiest.

It is possible that the file has less than 256 colours in the palette, if this is the case, then save the file and reopen it, the palette will probably now have a bunch of black in the last several positions, just move the transparant colours to the last two positions and paste your work to this file again, then save for the final time.

Hallo Pounder
I think, I must eliminate the undergrounds or I have than problems with the correct graphical coastlines later ?

That is correct... The Jungles, Forests, and Swamps are placed over other types of terrain, so it's best to just change the background to pink (transparent color), and let the underlying terrain show through.
