New Version - 1.1.4 (October 24, 2021)

Two issues, which seem to have been around for awhile.
Firstly, can AI's be encouraged to update their special units, & not let them stay around for ever. In current game Persia had an army of immortals which sounds good, & had biggest army. America declares war & pummels the Persians, who seemed to have no range units at all & comprised nearly of Immortals. Now this would have great in classical age, but America like most civs was reaching the Rennaisance, & its modern army took them down. Even when they were destroyed they kept building more, probably due to low cost.
Secondly, & a bug bear to myself as well as the AI, is when new units come onboard, whether built, bought, or gained my other means, can they not just be put out into that cities tiles. Particularly, when at war, & a useful unit suddenly gets put on the front line & destroyed that turn. Poor Persia actually obtained two Longswordsman who were put right next to America's finest & obliterated. Is there any way when a new unit comes onboard that the player/AI can actually move it to a tile within city.

Bugs need to be reported on Github to be actioned.

Okay, though not really sure if they are bugs but more like long term annoyances which seem to be part of the game.

The first one is a bug. I'm not sure what you're asking for the second one - don't units already spawn in the city if the tile is unoccupied?

I believe the ability to select the spawn location within the tiles of the city radius when the City tile itself is occupied? It would be nice if the default location could have a check to determine the most viable defensive position when a city is under attack instead of the 'anywhere is good' decision it seemingly has.

Edit: If you guys decide to take a look at it as a QoL check I'm happy for what ever you guys decide, you make the game playable!

As Borndownunder stated, it is the ability to be able to put a new unit down where you want in your city tiles if city occupied, not just dumped, usually in the most inappropriate places. Used to be when you gained a new unit it went into city, then if occupied would have choice to move it out.

@John.B.C I am actually trying a game with no espionage for the first time ever after (stepped down to Emperor since there will be no tech catch-up) -- I play with no tech brokering and with research agreements. I'm interested to see how this makes the later game play out, including from a gold perspective.

Please report back.

Anybody knows why Gondar is 'isolated' from the capital?

It'seems to have stopped happening. Instead of being spawned inside the city and forcing the player to move them out of the city, they spawn adjacent to the city in an apparently random location. (It may favor the bottom tiles... or roads)?

What has happened to governors placement of city tiles? This used to work without much hassle, now it just seems like a mess. Tiles are not reassigned after being occupied (also after they have been occupied by an enemy unit the tile is unavailable as if still being occupied; until I manually remove another tile for it to 'appear' once again.) I can no longer grab tiles worked by other cities (usually I want to take tiles from puppets) etc.

Currently I feel like I need to have this under constant observation.

Personally, I've started to not allow myself to steal gold, since it completely ruins the economy of the game. I don't mind the AI stealing, I mean it always has tons of money anyways so that doesn't bother me.

You can't take tiles from a puppet city, but you can do it before then while it's still neither annexed or puppeted on the turn you conquer it. Otherwise, you have to annex a city to take its tiles. You can also buy tiles in the city before you puppet.

You can't do this by clicking on the View City button, you have to click on the city itself. This is a workaround and I'm not sure how intended it is.

Make a bug report on Github, please.

Venice can now take tiles from puppet cities.

The ability to buy tiles before puppeting has been fixed for next version.

I'm wondering about the spy system, if anyone can help?

All Standard settings - Turn 181 - Renaissance era

I got a notification that:
Recruit Johanna succeeded in Assur.
Recruit Johanna in Assur COMPLETED their mission.
Your Capital city: 800 gold.

Next notification:
Unknown foreign operatives succeed in Assur (my capital)
Unknown spy operatives COMPLETED and action in Assur. 'Raid the local gold treasury.'
Your capital city: 800 gold.

I did not lose any gold or have that much gold to steal.

-

Previously, I stole 2100 gold. I got the COMPLETED notification and I received the gold but there was no way the other Civ had 2100 gold to steal. At the most they had 500 or something.

Is something bugged with my spying system?

The spy system was overhauled a few months ago and is still in its beta stages.

If I understand it correctly, the money is not actually stolen from that civs treasury (otherwise it would have a pretty bad mouthfeel). The description may not be the most appropriate one, but feel free to suggest changes :)
