Does the AI make the distinction of I want this vs THEY want this resource?

Yes - but the valuation needs work.

Recursive, would it be possible to reduce the AI repeat trade requests somehow? Particularly mid to late game?

I know we can turn it off all together, but the AI is annoying around midgame when they constantly request a few gold per turn for almost all your strategic resources and will request an open boarders EVERY TURN.

I know you are saying it's a work in progress, but would it be possible to add in some sanity check until this is fixed so the AI doesn't spam the player?

There are already sanity checks built in, I'll have to check why they're not functioning as intended.

Changelog:
Code:
- Fixed units not being able to be promoted upon creation/purchase
New logic: A unit that is out of movement AND has attacked at least once this turn cannot be promoted.
I *think* that is not working - I have been able to attack, gain XP and then promote at the end of the same turn (warrior/archer, so no movement left).

Has anyone else noticed this? I will try to test some more and would then make a github report.

Apologies for the very stupid question. I upgraded to this version after ~2 years, and my mod screen is telling me that I can't enable the mod "Trade Opportunities for CP (v.8)" because it depends on the mod "(5) More Luxuries - CBO Editions (v.0-999)"

My previous games had the luxuries in them so it almost seems like that mod has disappeared from my modlist. A search tells me I can download "More Luxuries" from this site but it appears to be remarkably old (7 years!) - is that really the latest version?

EDIT: actually it seems More Luxuries (v.155) is blocked by another mod, though it doesn't tell me which. So I'm at a loss as to what happened to the More Luxuries mod I had before.

You are getting requests from the same civ? There is supposed to be a check to stop that.

Was there a change to Ancient Ruins? I haven't seen any ruins in any of the games I've played for the last two updates.

Huh, that's an old bug, should've been fixed. Are you using 43Civs version, or do you have any resource or map mods? If so, can you remove (or backup to somewhere else) the entire "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS" folder, and try testing with VP 2.1?

Was AssignStartingPlots.lua changed this version?

Thanks for your help, balparmak. It was More Wonders that was causing the Ancient Ruins to disappear. I let adan know.

Version 2.1.1 has been posted. Link in OP has been updated.

Added "automate production" feature to cities, courtesy of balparmak.
- Non-puppet, human-owned cities can have their production choices automated
- Automated cities will not produce units, buildings that require resources, or (if running an empire-wide deficit) non-defensive buildings that require Gold maintenance
- You can still manually add things to the production queue
- Automated cities can still have city focus/tiles/specialists assigned

Online as of 9:14 AM CST. Savegame compatible with 2.1 versions.
