Religon change was good. In my Ottomans game I did not manage to get a religion but then conquered Pocatelo and got to play around with is religion. The passive pressure now feels much more imortant. You cannot just send two inquisitors and a missionary when you rush a capital and assert an unassailable religious control.

Aesthetics feels slightly underwhelming now however.

Also is it me or the AI is slow to colonize and expand now??? Ther are huge swaths of land that stay empty until very late in the game.

I too am seeing one or two civs in each game slow to expand (Rome, Germany,...).

Also, is it just me or can barbarian ships sail through iced tiles?

I haven't seen them move but I have seen barb ships spawn in ice tiles. They just kinda sit there, it's kinda sad.

Wow, that's an interesting outcome. India finally doesn't have "no reformation" curse
India is pretty OP right now though. It only costs 1,000 faith for your first two prophets, and then you spend 0 faith to reform. Missionaries are too weak, my neighbor the Aztec has already spent like 8 missionaries and inquisitors trying to fight my pressure, and the city already flipped back. Its not even Renaissance yet.

Myself and Rome (who has my Religion in all cities) are running away really hard because all of our cities have Pagodas with at least 2, usually 3 religions.

Poor India is getting the nerf bat next version.

I've been waiting for others to figure out how ridiculous Gandi is right now. What are you taking away?

I've known, I just wanted to see how the religious change shook out for them.

Gonna reduce the GP reduction to 25% and reduce the max pressure from population by about 20%.

Sounds like an overreaction to be honest, but you do what you do. :D

I'm playing a game right now where my military is ranked 6, with 203k units; the Inca lead with 424k. This mirrors well with InfoAddict, where I also rank 6th with 81K, and the Inca first with 169k.

I'm currently in a war with Songhai, who is is #3 at 144K. I see 24 of their ships -- all current, and for all I know, they have more -- vs 9 of mine, total.

My question is, is there a way to have a more accurate sense of what the "200K, etc" numbers mean, vis a vis actual unti count?

An observation on the current version. I'm playing with Carthage, and have more cities and people than the Inca. All my cities have public schools and observatories... but around t250, the Inca have steadily pulled away from me, and now lead by 8 techs. I have the Porcelain Tower; he has Sankore. He went Tradition, I went Progress. (We both chose Statecraft and Rationlaism, and I am dominating in CS alliances.) What would make him steadily increase his tech lead? I also spread my religion, so have been unusually happy most of the game -- somewhere between 5 and 40, depending on war.

Please, check more things.
1. Other wonders that might give science/great people/trade routes.
2. What is exactly doing his religion?
3. You didn't say if he has same number of policies, and what difficulty you are playing on.
4. Did you take too long to go for public schools?
5. Can you say if he has planted academies or has any natural wonder with science yields?
6. What is his monopoly? It's too early for corporations, but monopoly bonuses may give something.
7. Who has more militaristic CS allied?
8. Has he got many friends that could sign research agreements?

If he is focusing on great people, and has fewer cities, it is quite posible that his tech progress is faster than yours. And if his total population is smaller, then I'd swear that Pachacuti is focusing heavily on great people. Quite probably, his military cap is smaller.

and don't forget inca has got a mountain bias
which mean that his observatories give him a high amount of science.
Moreover the mountain are super science/gold tiles for inca only

Great questions:

2. He has 19 cities in his, I have 36 in mine:Theocratic Rule/Cooperation/Pagodas/Sainthood + Jesuit Education vs Apostolic/Churches/Mastery/Pacifism, +TGoG.
3. Playing on Emperor, same number of policies (3 in Rationalism).
4. I don't think I took too long going for PS, but the point is he's pulling awa now, when I have them.
5. I don't see any academies with my diplomat -- mostly mountains and water.
6. Too early for corporations.
7. He has 2 allies, both militaristic.I have 1 -- and 10 overall vs his 2.
8. He has no Friends.

* He has no observatories -- I have x. But he is getting science and faith from mountains.
** He has a Military Academy in the capital.

More facts: Cusco is putting out 183 science; carthage is putting out 250. But in raw science (InfoAddict) he leads 1502 to 957 -- even though I'm in a GA. (He might be, too -- I don't know.) He has a mosque and pagodas, and got Sankore as well as Himeji (no Oxford). Again, I had Halicarnassus, Porcelain Tower, no friends, Oxford, Oracle.

Let's say all 10 of his cities have a Mil. Academy, but no observatories. 10 cities means 100 beakers.
Sainthood from 9 foreign cities (say average size 25) gives him another 20 or so.
Jes. Education, if he has uni's and PS's in all 10 cities, gives him 100.

I have a PS in 9 cities, uni's in all. I also have Mastery. That's 13 libraries and uni's, plus 9 PS: 70.

And, during a GA for me, he is putting out 1502 science vs my 957. We accounted for over 220 above, minus 70 Mastery -- a lead of about 150.

Aso, I was wrong about pop: he has 100 vs my 74.

Would that pop edge in 3 less cities, plus Tradition, Pagodas and mountains, give him an additional 400 or so beakers?

I have No idea how the happiness is really supposed to be working. The very moment i go to war, it seems like my happiness plummets to negative 10 or below. It is not war weariness, because it happens instantly. Seems pretty weird. Any ideas on how to keep it in line?
Playing immortal, with legendary start, pangea, huge, 9 civs.

check before and after war the different number when you hover over global happiness.
If you've got an issue with poverty( which is usually the one which fluctuate the most between war and peace) , gets more village and works some merchant specialist.
