i thought CQUI didn't work with the fall patch anymore?

Probably fixed by now. Fall patch is two and half a month ago.

On the topic of AI: I'm aware that mods fix most of it, and I use those mods myself too, but I believe that the base game AI should be top priority, as AI is just an essential mechanic of a single-player focused game. Any additional content is by definition not essential. And on top of that, creating a new civilization is much easier for a modder than fixing the AI.

I`ve tried out the AI+ mod on 3 games. It does help the ai out in combat but makes the experience worse. The ai barely makes use of great people. Going for a culture victory lets you get all the available writers for excample without opposition.
And when you play on a large map (10 players) the weakest civs tend to be destroyed pretty quick.
So you are left with only a couple of powerhouses. Might be more difficult but ruins the experience.

True. It has been in Alpha stage since 3rd of November. But Nightly build has been updated, and has supported Fall patch all the time.

mod is just as bad as it was last time i used it before the patch. 1st play the game froze when i clicked on the minimap. so i reloaded and when i click on a city no build menu appears, or city details nothing only way to get into it is to wait for the production to complete than click on the gear in the bottom right. i don't know how anyone can use this mod!

At least you are guaranteed a bit of variety in your game experience with a chance of a runaway AI. You are not going to experience that with vanilla Civ6.

My pc can only handle large maps at the moment which is like 10 players total. If i play on AI+ mod it feels like i`m only playing against like 3 other players. Which for me ruins the experience for starting as a nation and compete against others.
Would like to compete with 5/6 other ai`s that matter at minimum. Civ6 maps already are quite tiny compared to what civ 4 can pull off.

So.. you want an AI that is really good against humans, but bad against other AI? (not being sarcastic, genuinely asking). It's not a bad idea.

I'm done waiting for a patch to make this fun, or interesting, or challenging, or to implement basic, standard UI. Won't touch till after next patch, and at least I saved 3 of my friends from buying this.

No release date for SDK yet (well... nothing new here) but does the following mean they're reading Civ Fanatics or just some PR bulls..t?

[...] Furthermore, to ensure your voice is properly heard though, might I suggest you pay a visit over to either our
Official 2K Forums or the ever informative community over at Civ Fanatics. Feel free to share your hype there! [...]

What would be worse for you? To get what most of us want or not to get it.

I have chosen to be happy, because it is good for my health.

This has actually already been discussed at the modding subforum too, general consensus is that it's an automatically generated answer and therefore doesn't really tell us anything.

Imo the fact that they mentioned it in a live stream (though saying they didn't have a date) means far more. It may take longer, but we do have the guarantee that SDK is coming.

I think patch is coming with the 3rd DLC - now, when is that coming? My bet is next week, mid-Feb.

I think it could come as early as the 16th, but the 20th-23rd seems more appropriate to me.

That would be perfect for me... I have no college in the 20-24 week...
