Next patch anticipation thread

I think they will address:

1. Last built building notification bug
2. The pin drop bug
3. Movement bug when there's an encampment and the unit you order tries to move thru and ends up attacking it

I guessed these because they are obvious and common and likely have pissed off a lot of players.

Of course what I would WANT them to fix is the AI but that's a whole other story..

The AI "fix" is probably going to be a longer, slower story over several patches (and expansions) rather than a single patch...

I'm expecting a nerf to commercial districts though! Maybe something about religious game too.

1. Last built building
2. Population growth notification
3. Enemy inside your territory notification
4. A city is able to do a range strike notification
5. Alert funktion working
6. Repeat trade routes
7. Repeat spy missions
(8. Balancing: weaken war carts)
(9. Balancing: weaken ranged units)
(10. Balancing: weaken Scythia's heal after killing ability)

Let's just drop the thread until Monday comes, now that we received a bucket of cold ice water on our expectations last week.

Let's be honest it's hard to stay on topic when you know you are stuck with 48 hours of no updates on the patch. However; you can't help but check over the weekend in some irrational hope that Firaxis will do something crazy and show to work at 7 am on Sunday to get the patch out.

None the less here is an attempt to get on topic. What are the top 3 fixes you think the patch will address? Not hope/want but honestly, believe that they will address. That means to put yourself in their shoes and take a guess.

1. I think that some work will be done on the AI. I don't know how much (obviously), but I expect some of the worst cases to be adressed (mostly the problems with city sieging and unit upgrading).
2. I think technology and civic costs will be increased once again for later eras. I haven't played unmodded for quite a while, but I know that their last increase was a fraction of what the 8 Ages of Pace mod does, which is the mod that most people (including me) use.
3. "Last built" will probably be fixed. I can't believe that's going to be a hard thing to fix, but it's going to matter a lot and they'll be aware of that.

Let's just drop the thread until Monday comes, now.

EP, a question. Why do you think the patch might drop on Thursday? Patch 1 dropped on Nov, 18, which was a Friday, Patch 2 was released on Dec, 21, which was a Wednesday. :undecide:

I`m thinking the patch will hit 60 days (ish) after the last patch. Probably an announcement the day before from the developers. Possibly a live stream. Tuesdays the announcement. Patch on Wednesday. (likely with a live stream)

For their sake, hopefully the SDK/workshop integration and/or team multi-player are included in this patch - those are the two biggest complaints I've seen outside of AI and diplomacy issues. And both of those should be much quicker fixes than AI and diplomacy issues.

Hi all,

CIV VI downloaded a 16.1 MB update today morning. Search on the Internet revealed nothing interesting. Any idea what the update could be about?

Ashvin

The 16.1 MB download is a few days old. It is only support files (Visual C++ redistributable) for the game. There was no new game content of any kind (Patch, DLC or otherwise). There is anticipation of DLC and/or patch coming soon.

Outside of banking and government, it's not a particularly real holiday. People still work and go to school mostly.
Schools (which are run by government unless they're private, most of which still follow public school schedules) are indeed out on Monday, but I highly doubt that would have any bearing on Firaxis, a private company.
