Next patch anticipation thread

Anybody else expect to see internal trade routes hit with the big nerf-hammer? Not that I mind, really, if that will fix commercial hub spam.

I really, really hope so. 90-100% of my trade routes are internal until e-commerce. Makes me not care at all about who I go to war with. I'm still lobbying for an international trade route mechanic whereby your yields increase if you are friends, and increase even more if you are allies. There needs to be more CONCRETE benefits to being friends and allies, like they did in Civ:BE expansion.

Eagle Pursuit whats your take on the 2kqa updating at 1am?

To me that pretty much confirms that they are working overtime on the patch and want to get new builds out ASAP to the testers. Which would mean they intend to make this live around the time of the live stream. Also if they are thinking like paradox they will livestream around the same time or very shortly before it goes live.

100% within the next 36 hours

I don't know if they want to put it out there in time with the livestream, but I think you have the gist of it.

I'm pretty convinced there's more to this DLC than just a civ and a scenario. Mostly because of the 10 Achievements. While I have an opinion on what that's likely to be, at this point, I am more curious about when we will find out.

They could do another First Look (10am EST) or they could reveal it in the livestream today.

Otherwise, it's just Australia and a big-ass scenario.

Speaking of the livestream. I find it odd that it is on a Wednesday. In the past they mostly did it on Thursdays. Wednesday interferes with the regularly scheduled livestream they do (is it quill18 or llamachomp?). There may be a reason for this change from the ordinary. If say, they want to show the DLC before it goes live tonight, for instance.

At any rate, I am thinking a 50% chance tonight and 90% tomorrow. If not then, then next Tuesday.

Or could they do a livestream today with Australia, announce the second element of the DLC at the end, then do a second livestream tomorrow of the other new content at their normal time? Also, didn't they say today's livestream was going feature the scenario? That's not really the best way to show off the balance changes made to a normal game, so a second livestream could delve into that too.

I'd rather the devs fix the game themselves rather than provide tools for other people to do their job for them.
There might be a difference on what the devs consider fixed and what some other people do though. ^^

Could but highly unlikly. Im shocked they are even doing 1 live stream.

THIS times 1000000.

Mod logic= pay $xx to developer so they can make a "tool" so that someone can just fix the game for free? Sounds like a lazy developers dream

Dont know, dont care. I really dont care for that guy. I think there was a game called elemental or something and he ended destroying that one too.

I don't either. That article is basically him trying to promote his new game (I don't think it ever launched) by trashing his old one.

Edit: no First Look at the traditional time

Edit2: The Mac and Linux qa builds are being updated, probably in line with the late 2K qa build from last night

These days I only play games that I can mod. I've never seen a game without modding tools made to specifications that I find satisfactory. To each his own, I guess.

But imagine if Civ VI *didn't* have modding. You really think that would push the devs to make a better product? Don't kid yourselves. The modding tools are a blessing.

And they stated ALL steam users so if they are gonna stick to that then it pretty much makes todays chances 0% Next Tuesday looks more and more likely
