Next patch anticipation thread

Haha, personally I'm glued to this thread more because I have the itch to play some civ, but like quite a few others I don't see the point of getting into the middle of a good game and then having the patch drop. I know I could turn off updates, but I also know I'll just end up being unable to resist the urge to try out the changes right away  Same problem with playing something else to pass the time instead - I'll just end up getting pulled away by the lure of the patch when it arrives!

I just really want to try out Australia with those Outback Stations.

Definitely OT, but when this patch drops, how do I remove all mods I've downloaded? I've installed so many I don't even remember where they all go and inevitably this patch will break at least one of them.

Well, presumably this patch will include Steam Workshop support, so if the mods were designed well, you should be able to do it from the main menu.

I guess you could try re-verifying the game files, though I don't know if that would be thorough enough to remove everything.

Best would be to just delete them manually and then reinstall them from the workshop when modders get them uploaded

Worst case you go to My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Mods and then delete all files in there.

guys it's not funny. i have just noticed the (still!) unfixed finished production item bug in the Devs Play Outback Tycoon video! the finished units seem to be now shown correctly, but not the buildings. what the heck? and i wonder how the devs ignored that while playing the scenario. the bug is quite irritating. hope they still can fix it before the update release!

It was actually showing wrong with the units too at the point where I checked. And I agree that it's just plain weird they haven't fixed it yet. It's almost as if they're doing it intentionally.

Mhrm, maybe they see it as a rather minor bug that would require disproportional much resources allocated to it to be fixed, so it has low priority? It's a bit weird.

I'm not so sure that they were playing with the upcoming patch in effect. For instance, nothing notable was different with trade. Also, I would be shocked if a National Park graphic isn't added as the new scenario utilizes these more. Those green borders have to go. My guess is that they played the scenario without the upcoming patch changes to avoid having to discuss the changes during the livestream.

To me it feels more like a major bug (mostly because it's so visible, you come across it so often, and if you have a large empire when you're going for a domination victory, it's very useful to not have to know by heart what all your thirty cities are producing) with minor resources needed to fix it. Like, how hard can it be? I assume it's something along the lines of "it first checks what it last built, and only then actually builds the item", which can't be too hard to fix.

In the current build National Parks have a fence encompassing them.

I was also thinking something similar. The devs know that people are hawkeyed and on the lookout for changes in the gameplay, graphics, UI, etc.

Hmmm. Yes. I suppose it is probably a press build and may not accurately reflect all the patch improvements being done on the QA builds.

I'd almost certainly expect it was at least a few days old, as you don't tend to want to load up today's build to do a big public demo on, lest something screw up with it.

Yeah, the irony overflow error would probably break the server.

Also, for all we know, they make special 'safety' builds for Ed now with unnecessary features they want to keep hidden stripped out, so that when he plays for the public he can't accidentally reveal anything
That cracked me up; I can just imagine all of the spoiler content now has a parental lock that Ed doesn't know the code for.
