NOTW XL: Return of the Baron (Game Thread)

End Day 1​

It had been a remarkably quiet day, given the noisy start. Since it was clear no one was going anywhere until the murders had been resolved and the culprits caught, the circus started unpacking again, and the day was mostly spent with the town and the circus introducing themselves and adjusting to dealing in a non-performer-audience setting, although it seemed a third of the population had decided that locking themselves away in their own houses was the better part of valor. Towards the end of the day, there were a few men of the circus calling for the Innkeeper's head, since he killed "that lovely girl", and a few people made menacing motions at the blacksmith, on the grounds of having known (or possibly going to know, given that the fortune teller was one of them) other people by that name, and they'd been rotters. However, the town mostly brushed off that anger as the big-mouthed talk of theater folks, and as the sunset, the people, slowly, suspiciously began making their way back to their tents and houses.

Morning, Day 2​

The sun rose, and soon the normal sounds of life in the town could be heard. The clang of the blacksmith's hammer, the begging of the urchin, the conversations in the inn, which unsurprisingly were still focused on the previous day's events, when a delegation from the circus came bursting in.
"We've found the Bearded Woman, dead. We think you of the town should see this as well."

Grumbling, the innkeeper, the wheat farmer, and a few others from the town went out to see landlubber's tent. They ducked inside and saw her dead in the center of a pentagram of leaves, tied down by vines with her heart cut out. In light of this, it is perhaps understandable that it took them a second to notice that she was hairier than the previous night, much more so, and her face had taken on a lupine cast.

Disconcerted by this development, though cheered by the nature of the victim, the local population began once more to hurl accusations at one another.

What? I've never even posted yet. Why should I feed the bearded lady? I've had enough with feeding the animals.

I'd say the second is more likely, I doubt a 30-player game wouldn't have two wolf groups, although that raises the question of why the werewolfs didn't kill anybody.

That also brings me to my second point, I'm going to vote to eliminate every member of the town systematically, so only the circus remains. Kennegit

Earthling, please, while I like that you care for us circus folks I think that exterminating the town just because they're town is plain crazy. The only known werewolf came from our own ranks to boot.

I think a lot of people aren't getting that "Sonny" dying is a tradition for the peasantry around here and it has nothing to do with the local innkeeper's guilt or Innocence. Why, the same thing happened in the last three towns our circus visited that were wiped out by mysterious attacks.
