NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

Dear commander - Do you not know my role? I am the Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician.
It is my job to go running towards explosions when other are running away.

Where do you think I got the explosive charge from? Oh yes, that would be night zero after you had planted it in the electrical room. I had my suspicious about you Commander and it seems I was right. I thought a little prompting would get you to expose yourself as a saboteur scum. No wonder you seemed so sympathetic to them. You are one!

Let me make it very clear to everyone that Captain Methos has known from the start that I had an explosive device. I revealed to him the very first day about my role pm and my ability to search for explosives. Every night, I scan the compartments I have access to, for explosives and if found, I disarm them. I had also revealed to Renata my ability.

The explosive charge is the C4 that the saboteur use. It is I who told the captain about how much damage it does. And again, I who explained how it takes a whole game cycle before it detonates.

Now we see the end of a curious little story. Renata told me that I had been scanned for items. Obviously, the scan came up with exactly what I told them. Now this is where things got very curious. Renata told me about how the person who scanned me was positively itching to have me killed. A sign of a disparate person who put two and two together to figure out that it was I who disabled the explosive device and saved the electrical room from being completely destroyed.

No wonder he was agitated. And now at the slightest provocation, he has leapt from his leash and revealed himself to us as the traitorous saboteur with the quick condemnation of the one whose ability is an exact counter to one of their abilities.


Before you are all quick to condemn me, I suggest you take the time to reflect all the work I have put in to expose the Saboteurs. I also would like you to wait before Renata and Methos have their input.

I am happy to accept death if that is their will, but I believe that they too have doubt about Commander Diamondeye.

In this case, I Unvote: Sprig and Abstain until I hear from a few people. This clears up many things I have been discussing via PM, and for once the puzzle peace seems to fit all the holes. You are very brave to mention this sir. If the Saboteurs have a kill, well..

Its interesting how you sat and discussed with us regarding sprig, yet a bit later upon threat of your own life, you turn tail and "change" your way of thinking. I was under the impression we had come to a decision regarding him. What I'm beginning to wonder is whether you, Diamondeye, want the explosives and realize that very quickly the explosives will change hands, meaning you lose control of them. Is that the case, that by posting it publicly you hope to gain control of where the explosives go?

In fact, you seemed rather angry that I wasn't informing you how things were proceeding. I told you it was being taken care of by someone else and then I took a nap.

What's also interesting is Diamondeye knew from earlier regarding Sprig being a bomb disposable role, yet he still tossed Sprig out amongst the masses with just enough info to hang Sprig? Wow, let's see. We have a possible prophet scanner and what does Diamondeye do? He sets him up for a lynch! Way to go townie!

Why not ? because 4 votes are as good as 15, except you cannot change 15 votes.. I think it's completely reasonable that DE get suspicious of Sprig when he knows that he is carrying bombs with him.. And then a pretty roleclaim completely turn everything around, and DE is now suddenly a grand scum.. I just don't see it.. If he is the person who can find items then why on earth are we so quickly to sentence him to death without any thought...

He only gets suspicious of Sprig and leaks this information out to the rest of us only after Sprig votes for DE and DE starts getting votes on him?

I could imagine DE go after his own hunch is he is lacking better information, and a vote on him by Sprig could easily trigger that imo...
I spoke a bit with DE earlier on in the game, and it gave me a good feeling about him.. So yes I would like you guys to give him a fighting chance instead of letting him wake up with 15 votes on him...

Let me clarify, I've known about it since early on. Sprig came to me when he realized I was definitely going to be Captain. DE only learned about it last night. While I informed DE I didn't fully trust Sprig, I've also known since the beginning and note, he's had those explosives since the game started and he still has them.

I still don't like that DE knew that Sprig is a possible scanner, yet DE only tosses out the info about the explosives, knowing full well that everyone is going to vote sprig because of the explosives. DE doesn't bother to state that he's hanging a possible scanner. I'm surprised more people don't find DE suspicious about that single fact.

Either Duke Blackistone or Diamondeye needs to answer for promoting TheForestAuto a known saboteur.

Gentlemen, I find it highly unlikely the Commander is a saboteur. If Sprig really does have demolition charges, he is a much more dangerous threat. However, if we remove Sprig, and find him innocent, with no charges in his possession.. Well, we know where to look next, dont we?

Being wrong is one thing, but being willfully wrong is another... Diamondeye, perhaps the time has come for us to learn your true allegiance.

I have nothing against either God Emperor taking the rifle, or Methos with redistributing the contents of the crate again.
