NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

re Earthling & CCRunner:

Having access everywhere at the start of the game sure seems not really standard innocent; even choxorn (who has the closest relatable ability) claims it is to avoid night kills, not some uber role of Fixing the ship/speed up everything/having access everywhere.

Trading items so early on and having insta-access sounds a lot like early on collaboration with your mafia teammates. Now you've made your claims, but frozen needs to make/explain his. As well as Camikaze.

There's no one who can fly it except me. Why else would I be so picky in choosing who to teach?

That helicopter business, yes, that reminds me, Why did you want to talk to this "diplomat" earlier and what do you know about them? I don't know if anyone ever got a satisfactory answer on what was going on, if we have some disloyal foreign agents aboard we ought to know. And people have still been wandering about all over the place so who knows what messages were sent from the Bridge Radio or Intel, etc...

As for you Takhisis, what do you do besides train others to fly? Anyone leaving/escaping on the helicopter would further eat into our numbers. I'd really like to stress I don't like our odds right now of taking out 4-6 Rogues or rogue-like/third party killers if there are any before they get about what, 15 of us?

For suspicions of other people - Renata, I think rhawn should maybe just transfer his weapon to someone else, verify what it's been used for maybe? We should have pressured for that in the morning in retrospect, I know CCRunner the scum is never going to cough up the key back anyway though. But we could see if rhawn's weapon actually just grants a kill or something.

Oh right, left that out, knew I was forgetting something. The process of transferring the weapon to someone else to verify rhawn's story also goes for sprig's bomb/whoever sprig's friend he gave the bomb to. I don't see why we should trust sprig's word if he gets back and says the bomb hasn't been used, someone else needs to verify that.

I still think something is fishy there too because just saying the saboteurs did that kill too doesn't add up, unless we find other explanations for, say, askthepizzaguy's death as well as why the saboteurs haven't killed more all along? If our conclusion is that the saboteurs are, unfortunately ,systematically capable of killing, that's another risk we should worry about taking the "long" way as that will probably encourage even more nightkills rather than sabotage.

Frozen had a stolen item, traded it to CCRunner for a weapon and that's clearly not suspicious y'know, and wants me dead because of my Innocent ability. He clearly hasn't explained himself or what he's done or intended to do with anything, and if he's just not on CCRunner's own team of traitors, had no compunction handing over items for a vague purpose like "messing with the nuclear reactor". And Renata, I believe both you and were trying to get the items from CCRunner/Frozen back to Nictel, right? Yet they refused to help Nictel, who was Innocent and should have been our nuclear repairman if anyone.

Yes, CCRunner failed to give the item to Nictel. Frozen had nothing to do with it by that point.

Shortcut, please.

Launch Key -- Renata

I'm so going to get killed for this.

Container -- Kennigit.

Reactor Codes -- Renata

Or this. Argh. May I remind the rogues that they'd prefer their ship afloat.

Engine Key -- Earthling

Compressor thingie -- Autolycus.

Machinist key -- classical_hero

Steel -- Izipo

Steel to Izipo, let's see if he can do something with it.

What're the reasons for voting CCRUnner and rhawn, exactly?

It's a combat helicopter, you know. Missiles, machine guns and all? Only a coward'd think of using a combat helicopter to leave his teammates.

(OOC:stop walltexting. PLEASE)
I think I'll take every item please. Ekolite :)
Why? Why such an unexplained vote, Ekolite? You've been behaving lurktastically this month. Ten posts all in all (including a subscription post -seriously?), and never jumping in much on the discussion, almost always voting quietly and unobstrusively.

The rhawn votes are misguided at best, suspicious at worst.

CCRunner -- he twice failed to use a repair ability when he had the opportunity (the first time he said he was looking for the codes). He has essentially the same talent as a known loyal sailor (Nictel). He failed to give Nictel the key when he had the opportunity, despite a number of assurances being offered him, and now Nictel is dead.

On his part -- he was locked up on Night Two when there was a full complement of sabotage damage, two presumed rogue kills, and apparently also a bomb planted. But that's not entirely definitive.

That makes sense to me. Besides, we still have a chance to slip through unharmed. So Shorter Route, and CC Runner for the vote. (wouldnt the Navigation Override do the same thing? So why didnt you try to get it earlier?)

DB- the Shorter Route is Red, the long route is Green. What are you voting for?

I am going to go with the short cut. Like others have said we have a good handle on repairs, and the ship is down one saboteur, but we still have no idea who the rogues are. Giving them an extra three days is just crazy.

I agree. It's far more likely at this point that we'll all be night-killed than it is that the ship will sink.

Short Cut, please.

Renata makes a convincing argument on Camikaze. For that matter, can someone go look at some of the other epic lurkers? We have way too many of them.

And now, for my bandwagon item votes:

Launch Key- Renata
Container- Sprig
Reactor Codes- Renata
ER Key- Kennigit I don't really trust Earthling right now, and I'll eat my hat if all three of him, CCRunner, and Frozen are innocent.
Compressor- Izipo
Machine Key- classical hero
Steel- Izipo

I can't really say anything else to defend myself here. I know some of you are mad that Darth came up innocent, but I'm trying. If I'm brigged up I won't have any more intel tomorrow either.

Path: Shortcut

Launch Key: Renata

Container: Kennigit

Reactor Codes: Renata

Engine Key: Earthling

Compressor: Autolycus

Machinist key: classical_hero

Steel: Izipo

Also vote to Camikaze due to Renata's reasoning. Also CCRunner came up as not a killer as did Nictel.

Also CCRunner came up as not a killer as did Nictel.

That's a few points for CCRunner's innocence, but it doesn't prove it. He could be a mafia who just lacks the ability to night-kill anyone.

I'm not about to jump to any more conclusions. I'm just sharing what I know.

So, then, I'd rather keep my pressure on Ekolite in the meantime.

About bomb-planting

Except there are no mafia in notW games ;).

If only one scum could kill and all the others lay dormant then you'd have only one detectable scum ata time which would be blindingly painful for the town at the best of times.

This is getting too complicated for me...
I fear that Renata has made a very valid point, and as such, she's now in danger... Just like ATPG.
But still, this is too much flip flopping for me. Before I change my vote for Camikaze, I'd like to think about it some more (and read back a couple of days).

Now for the items.
Just for kicks I was about to give all the items to Ekolite... Because we all know he just loooves items, right ;)
But in all seriousness, I'll just follow the trend:
Container -- Kennigit.

Reactor Codes -- Renata

Engine Key -- Earthling

Air Compressor -- Izipo

Yeah, the air compressor sounds like a thing I could use, but just marginally. I'd be willing to change if someone thinks he can use it.

I'm going to let rhawn for now and accuse CCrunner. His bid for the reactor override concerns me, and I'd also like to see us go back to using the brig, given rhawn's investigative claim and the fact that we're bee-lining for home.

I can agree with those votes.

Well, I guess Kennigit container, Izipo compressor, reactor stuff to Renata, key1/key2 to Earthling

CCRunner

But he already scanned CCRunner when he was in the brig on Night Two. I'm not sure what good scanning him again would do.

That's true, but we have one less scum who can take actions (TFA's death), so it may be easier to count. More importantly, I want brigging, not killing. Earthling and rhawn seem like even worse candidates for the moment to potentially have pass Camikaze due to secret votes.
