Nuke Nes: After Victoria

Texas must have been equal when it rebelled.. but i doubt it has gone anywhere since...

Well, it's a crazy world. I bet I can beat the UCSA with more drama.

"George!"

"Marge!"

"George, I'm dead!"

"Marge, I will avenge you!"

"I am the UCSA machinegunner."

"I am George."

"Who?"

"YOU KILLED MY WIFE!"

"What? I just--"

"DAMN YOU!"

"Aw, you hurt my feelings."

"Serves you right."

"I'm going to cry now."

"Hah."

"Ah, I'm dehydrated. I am dying."

"PITCHFORK STAB!"

"Argh, I am dead..."

OOC: Texas rebelled right after the union was pronounced (slavery was banned before unification, because one of the condition of unification was abolition) and technology development had begun after unification, and we all know that technology doesn't appear with lots of money at snap of finger with magic word, "voila!", in two or three days. And i'm sure texas didn't linger around until the end of the year.

Don't worry. Soon enough we will come for your head. We declare our attempts to limit ourselves to a defensive war over.

From: The Kingdom of Two SIcily's

We protest this limitation on sea warfare, as we sport a significant advantage against the facist's on sea.

Nuke, I'll lose the war unless I can sell my navy. Please. Just let me sell it.

This is actually not unreasonable now

How will he even engage in war without a navy?

Of course the lives of Spanish men are precious. Same goes for the men of any nation. We cannot agree to peace at the current borders because this border was created by intervention of a foreign power. We had won, Spain was united. Then Russia invaded and forced a sovereign upon us. If Russia invaded your nations and placed a monarch in charge, would you accept peace? Besides we have made a reasonable peace offer that was rejected by the Nationalist.

That’s a weak argument. I doubt foreigners would stuff ballot boxes. More likely you have something to fear. Perhaps the Spanish people do not truly support you. Each polling place would have a Communist, Fascist, and Neutral Foreign observer. Does this not seem fair? These people would be observers and not participants in the election. Let the Spanish people decide fate!

We are not critiquing your foreign policy. You are to be commended for patience in the face of Russian arrogance. It is interesting that Russian feels that is fine to attack your allies when they have signed an NAP with you.
From: Russia
To: Great Britain

We have already agreed to withdraw our troops. As stated, you got to have your troops in for a year, and we got to have ours there. It was simply tit for tat.

However if Britain or any member of the Noble Alliance gives Republican Spain military or economic support, Russia will move in and defend Nationalist Spain.

And for Great Britain, this will not be breaking the NAP because we will be defending, not attacking. Therefore it will be you breaking the agreement if you help.

But then turns around and threatened you if you attack one of their allies. But then again it should be expected from a nation that thinks it can invade peaceful nations and setup puppet regimes.

Leonardo Deprezi was Lisbon on the day of the great invasion. His forces had just routed Nationalist and their armies were destroyed. It was his moment of glory. Spain was finally united. He was drinking a glass of wine looking out over the ocean when the first shells began crash into Lisbon. That was the first sign of disaster. The second was a five minutes latter when the horizon filled with ships quickly approaching the shore. The Republican soldiers ran to take up defensive positions near the beach. It was a valiant defense but Republican soldiers were out numbered. The Republican army soon broke and ran or surrendered to the Russians. Leonardo realized the situation was hopeless. He fled to east and kept fleeing. Every time he paused to rest those damn Russian tanks would roll into the area. Finally he reached the safety of the Pyrenees.

At the time Leonardo did not realize this was area of safety. He figured he would pause momentarily and then sneak into France and flee to Britain. But for some reason the Russians chose not to pursue him into the Pyrenees. Leonardo became very depressed. He had failed; the Russians had driven him from power and enslaved the Spanish people. He could not bear to look at the Republican soldiers. Their body language showed fear. In fact many soldiers had begun to desert; figuring life under Russian occupation was better then dying on a mountain top for a lost cause.

Leonardo’s only friend was the bottle. But this friend drove him towards suicidal thoughts. Everyday he would stare at the pistol on top of his chest. Trying to get the courage to use it on himself. Finally after endless days of drinking he got courage to end his life. With grim determination he got up and walked over to his gun. Suddenly Pedro, his right hand man, burst into the tent. Pedro was second in charge in the Republican government. Leonardo and Pedro shared the same ideologies and thus they were best friends.

Leonardo stared at Pedro in shock and then ran over and gave him a big bear hug. Lenardo said, “ I thought you were dead! How did you escape? I thought Madrid had been completely encircled and that no one had escaped. Pedro smiled and said, “They didn’t check the sewers. I climbed down into sewer and escaped by the river. But enough about me. What is the plan for the future?” Leonardo slumped down onto his bed and said and whispered, “It’s over. We have lost. We will wait for the Russians to come and finish us off.

Pedro grabbed Leonardo by the should and shook him hard. What the hell are you talking about? Have you not heard the news? The Russians are withdrawing. The Nationalist will soon be left on their own. We have a second chance. If we make a stand here, the Spanish people will see our determination and rise up against the Russian puppets. We have much to discuss but you need to sleep and a chance to sober up. I need a hot meal and a chance to sleep myself. Pedro said good night and left the tent. That night Leonardo had the best night of sleep he had in along time.

The next day Leonardo and Pedro began planning the defense of the Pyrenees. They soon began to call the area Libreria Fortaleza. (Freedom Fortress) It would be a safe haven, where those who were fighting the Russian puppets could find rest and support. It was not a single fortress per say. Rather it was an interconnected network of fortified strong points. Many on steeps hills. The terrain was studied and ambush zones setup. Many roads and bridges were mined and bobby trapped. The mountainous terrain prevented the Nationalist from operating large mechanized formations like they did in the rest of Spain. If the Nationalist occupied and area, The Republicans would wait them out and re-occupy the area after the Nationalist army had moved on. The goal was to make it too difficult for the Nationalist soldiers to enter the territory. The safety of Libreria Fortaleza allowed the Republicans to begin a guerilla war against the Nationalist. The Spanish civil war was entering it’s bloodiest phase.

As Ireland, shouldn't I have the stuff the British had?

Attack Nat. Spain and you will be on the wrong side of France.

As Ireland, shouldn't I have the stuff the British had?

No, Ireland was always left alone really, the soldiers either left to fight the war, or had outdated equipment

President Reynoso looked out across the glory that was Madrid, the capital of a nation that stood as a shining beacon of peace and prosperity. Just as he began to admire the newly planted flowers outside of the palace a paperboy walked by and handed him a newspaper, the headline blazing "Communists surrender without shot fired-World Sees Reason at Last" Raul jumps for joy as tears come to his eyes "Peace at last!" he exclaims. The Queen comes out of the palace and hugs him out of sheer joy, she then begins licking his face with great excitement

"oh what the hell!" Raul yells kicking his dog out of his bed, jumping to his feet and looking around, he notices a map of Spain on his desk, unfortunately with the Republicans still on it, he lets out a deep sigh and walks over to his desk to grab something to drink.

"oh sir, glad to hear you've awakened!" his aide Frederico exclaims opening the tent flap and walking in. "and you just happened to be outside my door when I awoke?" Raul says sipping his drink, giving Frederico the meanest look he knew, knowing full well that Fred had sent the dog in to wake him up in the first place.

"so.... how are things going?" Raul asked getting up and moving to sit on the edge of his bed. "well checking your mail...." Frederico said pulling some letters from a bag hanging off his shoulder "bill...threat from Britain...bill...another threat from Britain....flyer claiming you may have already won..." Frederico said trailing off "won what?" Raul said with great interest "doesn't matter, if we claim it we'll get threatened with invasion again" Frederico says placing them on the President's desk.

"alright then... status report?" The President asked stroking his chin, "well the beautification of Spain project is going well, we've begun to plant flowers in the craters but other than that everything is pretty straightforward" Frederico said pacing across the tent as he spoke.

Raul flopped down on his bed "alright then, see yourself out Fred" closing his eyes as he finished the sentence. he heard Frederico leave as he began to drift off to sleep.

OOC: Well the techs are really expensive. Besides I hadn't originally planned to leech of people.

OOC: Texas has very little industry so even if they new how to build tanks they couldn't.
