NWolfNES III - Opportunity edition - Home wasn't built in a day

The NPC nations shouldn't be in gray, they're just as important as player nations. ;)

I did not think that religion would play so large role in their life and as you did describe them as stoic, I went with that. I can still change them to be more fearful of darkness and terrors that gods present?
It may vary from person to person and from tribe to tribe, but I genuinely like your idea more than my original one, so I'll lean more towards the stoic 'Oh well, evil gods are trying to destroy me', than towards the fearful 'Aaaaah! Evil gods are trying to destroy me!'

I like the map, btw, although it might be good to make the player nations appear in transparency, so we can see the terrain beneath them.

Yeah, now I can see hills through the nations, while still being able to recognize each nation easily.

Something in the rivers is weird. Under nations sometimes their black and sometimes their blue and cut... Put the rivers as the top layer.

Can we conduct diplomacy now? :)

In theory, yes. Altho you don't have any stats yet. Not that they matter much, at this point, as you guys don't have much income.

Better?

Yes. Much better.

I still didn't make up a nation for this NES... Argh.

You still can, or you can pick one already existing. But you don't have to

Can we get a "population density" map like the greyed out areas in Northern style NES maps? I want to know where barbarian activity is dense, or where nations can suddenly spring alive...

Heralds from: Kuttukar Essar

To: The Assatur
Northern ally! We wish our common merchants easy access to the Hillfolk in the mountains and would like to provide a mutual trade guarantee for our traders' safety in foreign lands. As such, we will compete over price through peaceful wit and not through damning assaults and struggling. Will you agree to this commitment?

To: Jinkudra Essar
Grand Essar of the South, may we be joined in the next world by promise and clarity! Due to our inaccess to the sea, we are planning to expand towards the coasts and would like to agree on an arrangement of claims. Our agreement would be blessed by the Nessukudra and should therefore be True in Jivana's spirit.

To: Niru
On this papyrus, we introduce our goodwill and friendship. We assume you have the same ideals. We would like to offer you rights to larger exports of tin in return for coin, resulting in the wellbeing and enrichment of us both.

To: Mara

(Yes, it's the same letter for both states. :p)

I don't think you have much contact with Assatur. Theres an entire mountain range between of you guys. Mountain range that is inhabited by hillfolk tribes. I'll respond to diplo in the evening - when I'm at home.

From: Assatur

Your traders are safe in the lands of the Assatur, and our long-travelers and goods-exchangers have no reason to start fights. However, I cannot guarantee your safety throughout all of the lands of Shothethur that lie between us- please, take this phalange amulet- it belonged once to the hand of the long-traveler Surrin, and in death he may continue to protect you from the malign.

OOC: I responded anyway, I see no reason why he can't get through, or at least around, the Hill-People of Shothethur.

I still think Kanorum should be on one of the rivers... Maybe you could put it on the lake, but where the river begins.

Can we get a "population density" map like the greyed out areas in Northern style NES maps? I want to know where barbarian activity is dense, or where nations can suddenly spring alive...

Next turn perhaps? You can assume there are cities that are out of your reach and that you have other cities (very small) other than capital.

We can make no such deal, as land is not owned by us, but the inhabitants there. Should any of the inhabitants wish to join us, we will defend and take care of them. Should they wish to join you, you will defend and take care of them.

To: Niru
On this papyrus, we introduce our goodwill and friendship. We assume you have the same ideals. We would like to offer you rights to larger exports of tin in return for coin, resulting in the wellbeing and enrichment of us both.

We have no shipyards. We have no ships. We are willing to trade, but this trade has to go through others. You can not offer us deals, when there are others, who dictate flow of trade. Should we gain a shipyard or secure traderoute with coast, we might be interested in deals you might offer.

I still think Kanorum should be on one of the rivers... Maybe you could put it on the lake, but where the river begins.
Could you mark it on blank map?

With every change, its beauty is ever more clear.

When are orders due?

Is 2nd June good enough?

EDIT: Please point out any mistakes in stats. Also, feel free to ask questions where your nation gets its income or whatever other questions you may have. There are couple of players who did not post in this thread. You must claim a nation - I can't be bothered to look through pre-nes thread in search of a post which nation you chose to create.
