[NFP] October Update

I always feel that if someone says that such-and-such a civ is OP, what that really means is they are fun to play. Rather than nerfing any OP civ, I'd rather see weak civs strengthened a bit to catch up.
It actually means the opposite, that they are boring to play, because some people want a bit of challenge from the game. If I wanted to be OP if would just put difficulty on settler.

Difficulty Settler - Player cheats
Difficulty Deity (etc) - AI cheats
Prince - No-one cheats

But AI basically struggle in Prince. Personally I feel like AI perform most "normally" on King and Emperor.

This is logical. But people don't. They want ridiculously strong Civs like Gran Columbia to beat the game on a higher difficulty and feel like a pro ;) Optimally also post a screen with their deity win on social media complaining about how bad is AI and how easy the game is ;)

so true

Hope that's a rhetorical question, because it's obvious there will be.

I don't know why, but it really irritates me when the identifier "someone" is used in a snarky way like this. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but Lily knows that it was @DanQuayle and myself that pointed out to them that the "bug" with Agoge and NULL prereq units was a long-standing issue with Classical Era starts here. It actually works perfectly fine with Ancient Era starts for all NULL prereq units. So the "bug" is very situational.

Not a mystery and the simple fix can be found here.
And it works too - I now get meteor showers as well as random forest fires again.
Great detective work finding that fix too.

The answer for the no forest fires/meteors bug can't be: "Here's a simple fix a user came up with." Not everyone playing the game (hello, console player here!) has access to these simple fixes users come up with. Of those who do play on PC, what percentage of them are perusing these forums looking for fixes? A really low percentage I'm sure. It's on the developers to fix their own game. To give every player the content they paid for months ago. Instead they have completely ignored this.
That's a very fair point & very well made too.
Let's be brutally honest - it ain't a difficult fix to implement so if this is not included in the October patch then really.....

I need to download the entire update myself and figure out what was added or changed there.

I'll try to see what updates there are for this game, maybe I'll find something to improve the game even more.
