I am one who usually keeps quiet and doesn't make a fuss but I've seen way too much policing going on in the OT forum. It has gotten to the point that any critising of Bush or America gets your thread closed and a good chance of you being banned. I agree moderating is a good thing and I approve of most desicions but lately on OT it has just gotten out of hand. I belive certain Mods are bringing their own political beliefs into account when Modding that forum.

There is not a specific bush/usa rule. They a just the overwhelming most common subject of trolling and nationality bashing. If you wish to attack leaders and national policies (of poster represented here), you should do it with serious debate not snide, silly, or BS insults. You have some more room in the humor forum for insulting materiel, but it had better be funny not prior posted here.

Actually, AoA had posted and stickied such a Bush/USA rule, and has also said that though the sticky is down the rule is still enforced.

It was an exaple of the general trolling and bashing rules. The same rule applied to such posts reagardless of the specific AoA posted in the stickey thread.

I think unfairness is the problem. Not that I want Sultan banned, but Sween posted one spammy/jokey thread - Sultan posted two, and Sween got a 1 week ban.

I saw unban Sween. Make a "three strike" system, not a "moderator's mood" system.

Although I may be banned myself for saying this!

Before the clamp down there was a flood of threads where people went over the top then there was the massive clamp down. Now the moderators are acting to stop it escalating again. Yes it seems that some topics are being overally clamped down upon but if you let them stay then more and more people start trolling.

The problem is the line has been crossed, people are being Banned and Threads closed for critisism of the president rather then for simple insults.

I see no reason why this thread should be closed it does not insult Bush personally it only critisises his job of running the USA.

Why is a simple critisism resulting in action while half naked women escape moderation.

With that thread, it started off well but it goes off topic and ends up becoming abit more anti bush. It probably would have survived if it had been in H & J.

The posters DO NOT have the right to question moderator decisions THAT DO NOT CONCERN THEM.

If this continues, the "rules laywers" will find themselves restricted.

None of you are appointed advocates for other posters, and I'm not listening to any further whine fests.

I feed up with this childishness, and it always comes from newbies, well I'm through "being silent".

Follow the rules or be banned.

No exceptions.

The OT forum has more pointless and spammy threads lately than usual, and they are not all about anti-bush or anti-US. AoA has my support in closing those threads.
