Alright, I'm starting to get back to S&T after my (surprisingly short) hiatus. I'll probably be only active on NES and IOT, though I might check this thread sometimes.

I thought you were going to leave forever and now you show up 1 month later! You better not make everyone here again!

Ok so I figured out something in regards to getting DoC to work.

The place where DoC is downloaded is something called a "Games Explorer" in Windows 8.1. After trying to find a way to disable it on Google, I found nothing.

I'm assuming as long as this folder is where my games are downloaded to; I cannot mod any future games that I install.

I'm sure there is a way to disable it. Or even a similar problem. I have that thing too, but the whole system works fine for me. Did you accidentally click something during installation?

You may have to uninstall civ 4, and then reinstall it. Go to programs and features in control panel, and then uninstall civ. Then reinstall it using the cd and then re-update it. It may be necessary if you want to keep writing your DOC stories. Install it while you do something else. Also, just as a precaution, back up your savegames to a different folder on your computer before you reinstall. Then, once it is installed, restart your computer. Once all of that is done, look in your Program Files (x86) and then Firaxis to see if Sid Meier's Civilization 4 is there, then you know what to do from there.

Edit: Restart your computer and search for the files before you update BtS to 3.19

I'm still completely burned out of civ4, so I probably won't be posting here much except for the OT thread and the occasional NES or IOT. Think of it as me going from being on a complete hiatus to a semi-hiatus. Hopefully, in a few months, I will have regained my interest in civ and will be back to posting at the levels that I used to be posting at.

Yeah kind of I would play more civ but I find it hard to play recreationally now. I feel like I can't play too much, I think I've burned the story-making process of civ gaming into my brain

I don't even know where he went. Last I checked a while ago his last activity was like, months ago. If I'm ever gone longer than a week without telling why, then you should begin to worry.

I'll take my first hiatus since I got here on the beginning of the year from 26th december until 2nd of January. I'll post it on the hiatus thread. Maybe I'll get internet there, but I don't think so. I'm going to travel to São Paulo and spend the week with my family that lives there and those that come from the South of Brazil too.

I wonder if I'll survive without internet for a week. I think so, but I'll have to find something to do all the time, because if not I'll think about internet
