So regardless of whether you agree with the US going into Iraq, we now have Sadaam Hussein, and pretty much everyone (although I have heard some wayyyyyyy left people downplaying this) agrees that he is a pretty bad guy.

So imagine you were appointed to soley decided Sadaam's punishment. That is, you aren't allowed to shirk off the decision to someone else, you have to decide his punishment solely by yourself without getting advice from anyone else (for example, you couldn't have a vote among Iraqi's and make your decision based on it). What would your punishment be for Sadaam!?

life in prison, but not a nice one, something like solitary confinement in San Quinten, where he is only allowed out to take group showers with huge muscular guys who are just itching to rape him up the arse

Life imprisonment

I don't see anything else being appropriate for his actions.

I'm going to make a guess that most will say life imprisonment or the death penalty.

I'd set up an elaborate scheme to have him broken out of prison by a few of his "supporters," then he'd go underground with my supervision for a few weeks, re-enter Baghdad in a flurry of cheering support for him, and then let him give a long victory speech on the baclony of his palace.

I'd let him rule the country for a few weeks, aided with the assistance of a closed-circuit television system pretending to be the pro-Saddam Iraq news services so that he didn't pick up on the truth.

After those few weeks, I'd reveal the entire thing and have him put back in jail.

Hand him over to the Iraqis with the condition that he gets a trial.

Can't you understand the spirit of a flippin' thread?! YOU ARE TO MAKE THE DECISION. Read the thread title again and again and again and again, and check everyone elses responses for a reference.

I'd like to enourage creativity. Death and life in prison are both soooooooooo dull!

Subject him to the same chemicals he used on the Kurds...

:goodjob: that's more like it!

Why kill him? If I was to have him executed, it will remove the focus of Iraqis from him onto the US. I'll let let him have a good long trial, only when the US is ready to leave Iraq, then I execute him. Btw anyone noticed the regretable short life span of Saddam's lawyer?

One theory I heard that I thought was interesting is the idea of having Sadaam sortof bargain for his life somehow, so that he can't go down as a martyr but more of a coward.

Hmm, if I am to do what is best for America, since they are his keepers it is only logical that I am playing the American commander of whereever he is, I would break his neck. (the killing type of neck breaking, not the parilising type) This would be that we don't waste money on bullets, electric chair electricity, etc.

I don't believe the death penalty is ever moral, so I'd have to go with life in prison.
