One Air Force MP and Bus Driver Killed In Frankfurt

You guys arent getting the point.

As a military parent, its entirely feasible that my kid would be on such a military bus for transportation if she went to see her friends family there in Germany. Its just a scary thought for a parent.

I should imagine that these buses will be safer than average because they will receive an escort.

But why not just get her picked up in a car or get the friend to meet her and get a or a normal bus or train etc try this

RIP to those lost and all hopes for a speedy recovery to those injured. Stand easy, everywhere.

My 17 year old was wanting to fly to Germany next year to visit a friend of hers whose dad is stationed at Ramstein. Right now, I am kind of leaning 'nope'.

If it's any consolation, when we had this sort of thing happening back during the days of Op BANNER they rarely tried to do lots of attacks in a row, since that would risk a lot of manpower for minimum effect - by spreading out their attacks, they hoped to wear down our morale more. She's probably safe enough, and I imagine the guys out there are being especially watchful for anyone at all suspicious.

Well I guess we should tell all the Muslims in the world to quit being Muslims :mischief:

Excellent insight FP. Thanks.

Pakistain is linked to the shootings in Germany.

Seems ever single attack (Madrid, London, Mombai) are all linked back to Pakistain.
Getting to be expected now that every terrorist attack since 9-11 has some kind of Pakistain connection.

She is a military dependent, and as such, could have been a passenger on a bus like that from that airport. I have confidence in her driving skills. I have larger concerns of sending her to a foreign country where US military types are being targeted by terrorists.
The US troop level in Germany offers an abundance of targets. So while US military personal in general may not be entirely save the chance of something happening to her specifically is extremely small.
That being said: Can't she just avoid those buses?
Americans should go home and mind their own business,
Erm.
Have you any idea about the job market in the rural Palatinate? :mischief:

I think she'll be fine. Security will surely be very tight now, and terrorists won't usually strike very often. If you're still concerned, maybe she can travel using normal public transportation, which is really good in Germany.
