Obama has stated that the mortgage help will only be for those who are in danger of foreclosure because of losing their job, or having obscene medical expenses, etc.

He has explicitly stated that the mortgage bailout will not help those who took on mortgages they could not afford, those who held onto multiple properties or those who took out an interest-only loan or those looking to make a profit by flipping the house.

How are we going to know who gets a free house? How is it going to be proven that they actually came upon hardship?

And even if that is the case...

To be fair, shouldn't anybody that loses their job, or gets a medical problem, now get a free McMansion? What makes these people so special that they get a free house... and why should I have to pay for it? When I run into hardship, who will be left to pay for my free house?
