OptNES III: Foundry of Nations

Finish it now, or the next time you oversleep you'll find a nasty present in your bed...

Godfather, much?

Of course. I was trying to be subtle.

NaNoWriMo's goal is 50,000 words. SO YOU ALREADY FINISHED, DIDN'T YOU!?

I've only done 5400 words. We're talking ten thousand words, most likely.

I could post the update in three parts (which would mean I can get two-thirds of the update up in the next six hours - and one-third right now, providing I don't have to move Torrmor) but that wasn't my original plan. Although that might help the feeling that there is some progress being made. Would people prefer that I do that?

Oh, yes, of course. 30,000 chars, not posts. Forgive me, Optical-san.

Dark Green, I presume? I suspected that, but then your description of your location would make no sense whatsoever.

Nah, light green, didn't realize there were two green arrows. :(

Ah, then it makes sense. As in, you swapped East for West, instead of making a nonsensical description. :crazyeye:

IC:
"The southern gaijins were threatening to come north and destroy us. We are vigilant. We are prepared. This Grand Island is ours by birthright. We will control this land forever more. They might have richer soil, but we have experience in war, and have been strengthen by the weather! The Tower stands tall, destroying those before it. The Transport allows us unmatched logistics and unmatched ability to trade. "
High General Oliver Cromwell-just now at Colombia Imperial Center HQ.

OOC: trade would actually be a nice thing to use the transports for for. since they can carry so much, we can use them to carry large amounts of cargo. and im not going to need them in massive amounts except during war, so they can during peacetime, have the majority be merchant marines, only to be called up during wartime. this is obvious possible, as they can hold 200 troops and are ocean going, unlike the others. this implies a large cargo hold, hence a economical way to ship. plus, the tariffs from the trade can be used to improve them

I am more than happy to wait for a nice little update, not rushed at all; three months for a TerraNES update once, so I imagine twenty four hours or so as Optical projects (iirc) is not too long at all.

Well, that's probably an optimistic projection given how much is left to do. End of this weekend is probably more realistic, given I have to share computer time.

Here's my progress on updating PC-wise: (bold is done, italics in progress, underlined is fully planned)

Arexthia (2 NPCs)
Tengalu'kulchen (1.5 NPCs)
Masia (0.5 NPCs)

Sounds great, cannot wait for the update! :D

Also, how can you have 1/2 of an NPC? :crazyeye:

One NPC, two PCs. Masia and Tengalu'kulchen both have contact with them.

:lol:First thing we find out: whats needed to invite at all costs that nearby NPC. ideally, 1 massive force, blitzing at sufficient velocity.

Can we get a progress update for today?

So far:

The first line would be the least I'd expect to be doing today, the second is the most I can realistically do (even I have to take breaks and the Wellington Phoenix are playing Sydney FC today - football (the proper kind) for those who don't follow A-League).

And let's have another preview!

Spoiler :
when we marched in the doors, we found ourselves in a circular room, a table of the same shape inside. Eleven rich-looking men sat at various places around it; other places were empty, presumably to accommodate members of this council currently absent. To our surprise, one of the men motioned for us to sit down. We did so, all of us with some question ready for these leaders. Ressis, as our leader, got the first word in.
"Where are we?" he advanced, speaking slowly and signing.
This meant something, at least, to these increasingly bureaucratic-looking men. Their faces lit up in recognition. One of them spoke.
"Ah, you are Avirrians," he said in a thick accent which we hardly recognised as our own language.
In shock, Inyis, Ressis' apprentice, spoke up. "You know our language?"
A booming laugh from the merchant - I was sure that was what he was now. "Yes, young sir. One of your people came here once. We teach the language now, to small numbers of people. We are merchants," he said, confirming without a doubt my assumptions. "Language is as good a tool as money."
