Orcs and Humans Continued

My first time visiting this forum in months, I suppose this game is just too interesting for me to ignore. Would it be possible for me to sign up as Stromgarde? I know from what I've read that the new GM used to control it, so am I right in assuming your giving it up to GM?

It's yours, if you have any questions on the direction the nation has been going or it's recent history send me a PM and I'll answer any questions.

Wars of Warcraft: Month 8

Alleyne Stormstriker Returns Home - Alleyne Stormstriker, born in Stromgarde and trained in Dalaran, has returned to Stromgarde to help lead the mages there. Alleyne was with the Dalaran mages who helped fight the Horde in the south and accompanied the party that fought Medivh. Alleyne seems devoted to increasing the focus of magic in Stromgarde which, until recently, has never felt the need for such arts. (Stromgarde: +Alleyne Stormstriker level 1 mage.)

Steamwheedle Cartle Establishes City - After a month of building the goblins have built up their new capital. It is a wonder city that has caught the awe and attention of the humans living near the Purgation Isle in Hillsbrad. Many farmers have found themselves wasting hours of valuable time looking towards the lights and listening to the sounds of the goblin city and seeing fireworks shoot off all around. The goblins have built a building in the shape of their great leader Ratso Steamwheedle that houses Ratso himself and many of his servants.

Stromgarde Moves Against Vilebranch - Thoras Trollbane himself has led a strike force against the Vilebranch trolls to the north of Stromgarde. Just a couple months after Stromgarde pushed the Witherbark Tribe out of the Arathi Highlands the kingdom is on the move against another tribe. Thoras led his soldiers through Wildhammer lands without asking permission prior to entry, the dwarves let them through but warned them if they need help they will not recieve it and that they are not allowed to seek refuge within their lands. Their first target was the troll fort in the north which was defended well. Stromgarde waited until dark to launch their assault, they surrounded the fort and let their mages lay siege to the defenses. When the trolls realized what was happenening they unleashed their shaman upon the humans who summoned the elements to strike at the mages forcing them to halt their siege and battle the elements. Thoras and Danath led a charge to the gates forcing their way inside with their soldiers and battling the trolls within. The humans outnumered the trolls greatly who put up a valiant effort to keep their fort, but would eventually fall. Even in defeat the trolls cast a heavy toll on their attackers and dealt a devistating blow to Danath Trollbane wounding him as he cut down the final troll warrior defending the fort. Knowing of the trolls regenerative abilities the humans burned the corpses and set up defenses within the newly acquired fort.
(Stromgarde: -30 warriors, -10 archers, -8 knights. -1 level Danath, +1 level Thoras, +1 level Alleyne +10 gold per turn.
Vilebranch: -20 warriors, - 5 shaman.)

Fort Bazjak Improved - The Bronzebeard Clan have continued to increase their defenses this month as they have begun construction of choke points around Fort Bazjak to force any incoming hostile forces to funnel through and reduce their numerical advantage. These choke points are yet to be completed, but they are coming along fairly well and the dwarves stationed at the fort are pleased with the idea.

Bronzebeard Clan Strike Blackrock Mountain - The Bronzebeard Clan, accompanied by the gnomes of Gnomergan and the dwarves of the Thorium Brotherhood have struck a mighty blow to the Lightning's Blade Clan within Blackrock Mountain. The Lightning's Blade Clan faced a force very close in numbers to their own, and with the typical Horde tactics relying on having the numbers on their side they had to rely on fortifying within the mountain itself. Mortar fire was used to break an opening for the dwarves and their compainions to charge through, sending only a small force at first. This initial force was quickly defeated and forced to retreat and lured the orcs into the open. While in the open they were immediately picked apart by gryphon riders, gnomish snipers, gnomish autoguns which one backfired killing the operator and two warriors defending him, and dwarven riflemen. The gryphon riders strategically cut off the orcs fall back forcing them to stay in the open and fight off their invaders. Chom'gar was one of the orcs caught in the open and fought hard to survive. The Ogre who was essential in taking the moutain the month before slew many dwarves yet again, but once Muradin Bronzebeard met him in combat the Ogre was locked in a battle he wasn't ready for. The Dwarven warrior, armed with the Stalwart Rose and the Ironfist Shield, was relentless while the two combated each other. Chom'gar had blow after blow blocked by the great shield and would be hit in return with hard blows from Muradin's mace, finally Chom'gar saw a break in the gryphon riders and charged back into the mountain to regroup with the rest of the Lightning's Blade Clan. Once the first battle had been won the seize continued until there was a large enough gap for a wave of soldiers to charge the orcs. Muridan led the charge which ended successfully and forced the orcs back further into the mountain.
(Bronzebeard Clan: -16 warriors, -2 riflemen, -2 gryphon rider. +1 level to Muradin
Gnomeregan: -5 warriors, -1 autogun.
Thorium Brootherhood: -2 warriors, -5 riflemen.
Lightning's Blade Clan: -200 warriors, -37 spearmen, -5 catapults. -1 level to Chom'gar)

Stormwind Continues Evacuations - More citizens and nobles have been evacuated from Stormwind and sent to Kul'Tiras. While they have continued this effort the prince, previously residing in Stromgarde, has decided to leave Stromgarde without addressing the regent Andiun Lothar and has set off toward Kul'Tiras to be with his people. This decision by the prince has boosted the moral and hopes of the Stormwind citizens currently in Kul'Tiras knowing their prince lives and wishes to be with them.

Varian Wyrnn Captured - The Rogue Prince Thalressar Sunstrider has launched a daring attack upon the ships escorting the young prince of Stormwind from Stromgarde to Kul'Tiras. Kul'Tiras had sent ships of their own to secure the prince they had sent two frigates and one battleship to ensure the safety of the prince, but that wasn't enough to repel the daring and desperate elf. Thalressar Sunstrider launched the attack during the night and the Kul'Tiras sailors didn't see the approaching ships until they were already firing upon one of the frigates which sunk easily. The elven ships quickly surrounded the humans and sank the remaining frigates leaving the battleship completely exposed. The sailors fought hard, cutting down many elves, but it was in vein as Thalressar himself borded and captured Varian himself.
(Kul'Tiras: -2 Frigates, -1 Battleship.
Thalressar Sunstrider: +1 level, +50 gold, -1 Corvette, - 5 Rangers.)

Stormwind Assaulted - After months of siege the Horde along with their troll friends have led an assault against Stormwind. The Horde, led by Orgrim Doomhammer, broke open the gates of Stormwind and charged in to be met by knights and warriors led by Andiun Lothar himself. The Dalaran mages had cast magical barriers upon the soldiers which helped prevent the initial push of the Horde forcing the orcs to back off at first. But when Cho'gall arrived the Horde cut through the magical barriers easily and forced the humans to retreat further into their city. To the surprise of the Horde there were multiple blockades built up by inside the city and slowed their push even more. They found themselves exposed to catapult fire at the first set of blockades which caused many casualties, but wasn't enough to force the orcs out of the city who continued to push through. After a few days of fighting and pushing through baracades the Horde forced the defenders of Stormwind back into the Cathedral of Light district which was heavily fortified as John J Keeshan regrouped there with the main force of defenders, but the Horde set up ready to break through.
(Stormwind: -50 warriors, -30 archers, -25 knights, -15 clerics, -3 mages. +1 level Anduin Lothar.

Gurubashi Storm the Harbor - During the main assault upon the city the trolls of the Gurubashi snuck around, using their magic to walk upon the water and hide themselves behind a thick screen of fog, and into the harbor. Although when they entered they were spotted immediately as their fog dissipated and Kul'Tiras and Stormwind soldiers were patrolling and escorting civilians onto the ships. The battle the ensued led to a victory for the trolls that was short lived as John J Keeshan arrived soon after with a force to fight the trolls and orcs back. The human fought hard and was able to deliver a deadly blow to one of the troll shaman Zanzil forcing the troll to retreat into the back of the invading force. Keeshan slew many trolls and orcs until Ma'iq came to challenge the man, the two fought a great battle and the man surprised even himself as he showed great strength and resilience to keep battling toe to toe with the towering berserker. When it seemed as though Keeshan was going to lose the fight a Kul'Tiras soilder ran in sacrificing himself taking a devistating blow from the berserker. however the sacrifice allowed Keeshan to develiver a devastating blow to Ma'iq forcing him back. After the fight was over Keeshan and his men pushed the invaders back into the water and forced them to retreat. Some trolls and orcs had breached the ships however leading to sailors battling these invaders, most were able to defend their ships and escape, but one ship was overtaken by trolls who set sail back toward Gurubashi lands.
(Stormwind: -25 warriors, -5 archers, -10 knights, -1 cleric. +1 level John J Keeshan.
Gurubashi: -140 warriors, -50 axe throwers, - 8 berserkers, -5 shaman. -1 level Zanzil, -1 level Ma'iq the Liar, +1 Frigate.
Blackrock Clan: -100 warriors. +1 level Gulnarg.)

Dalaran Mages Devistate Horde - Dakrin and the mages he led from Dalaran to help defend Stormwind had conjured a massive firestorm that only harms those not born on Azeroth. While the Horde worked on breaking through the final defense of Stormwind and into the Cathedral of Light district the fire storm took off. As the final baracade fell the orcs, led by Blackhand himself, were scorched by the fire storm and split apart screaming in agonizing pain. The green flesh started peeling off the orcs and Anduin led a counter charge into the threatening force. Lothar cornered Blackhand and the two engaged each other, Anduin gained the upperhand easily as Blackhand was still dealing with the fire storm and just as Anduin was going to deal a death blow to the warchief of the Horde Garona struck from behind. She turned his attention to him forcing a two on one fight that didn't look good for the regent of Stormwind. Garona stuck a dagger into Lothar as he battled off a rampaging ogre and forced him to a knee, just as Blackhand was about to finish the human off Alosus Faol blinded the orcs and cast a healing prayer upon Anduin who rose to his feet and drove his sword into the warchiefs heart. Garona, witnessing the death of Blackhand, tried to escape but was met by Keeshan who had just defeated Formak in a duel and looked to kill the assassin. Just as Keeshan was about to cut the orc's throat Lothar rushed in and took her from Keeshan demanding that she be captured instead. Faol then came to the aid of Dakrin who was battling the lich Khadgar, the two were had been matching each other spell for spell as Khadgar was uneffected by the fire storm. Faol seared the skin of Khadgar who halted his spells for a breif moment, seemingly recognizing his old friend and looked to begin apologizing. As Faol began to forgive Khadgar the lich let a curse fly at the cleric, but Drakin blocked it and sent one of his own toward the lich which sent the lich into a retreat. Upon realizing Blackhand had been slain Orgrim Doomhammer went into a bloodlust killing everything around him, humans, orcs and ogres alike. Many humans, orcs and ogres quit fighting to turn and watch the chaos and Anduin Lothar accompanied by Keeshan engaged the orc. Doomhammer wasn't able to fight the two off on his own as Cho'gal interveened to save the vicious orc, but Lothar charged the warlock and gashed the ogre forcing him to leave the battle with the rest of the retreating horde. Doomhammer, realizing he was almost alone, turned to retreat but was cut off by Marcus Jonathan. The orc, now surrounded by the best Stormwind had to offer, looked toward Lothar and rushed the man. Doomhammer was unable to overpower the great warrior of Stormwind and was on the brink of lossing his life when Killrogg Deadeye emerged, distracting Keeshan and allowed Doomhammer to escape unharmed.
(Stormwind: -125 warriors, -70 archers, - 75 knights, -12 clerics, -4 mages. +1 level Anduin Lothar, +1 level John J Keeshan, +1 level Alonsus Faol. Captured Garona.

Black Tooth Grin Clan Arrives - With the death of the former warchief, Blackhand, the new warchief Orgrim Doomhammer has ordered for the arrival of the Black Tooth Grin clan. This is one of the Horde's largest and most vicious clans, they will be out for blood for the death of their former warchief.

Dark Scar Arrives - Along with the arrival of the Black Tooth Grin clan, the Dark Scar clan has made the journey through the dark portal and is now in Azeroth. This clan may be smaller then the Black Tooth Grin, but they are still a force to be feared, and now Azeroth has two more orc clans to fear. With the arrival of two clans this month who knows what the new leadership of Doomhammer will bring to the Horde.

We will not allow any more of your soliders to pass through our lands, we are done dealing with you kingdom.

From: Thalressar Sunstrider
To: Stormwind

We will kill your prince if you do not pay us 500 gold. You have three months.

OOC

@Milarqui/Quisani - I didn't do the lumber/gold trade because Quisani did not confirm it within his own orders. Make sure you both include the trade within your orders if you want to make trades.

@Arya126 - You only had enough time to take the one village/fort. Also without asking for permission from the Wildhammer prior to entering their territory they are very displeased and will not allow any more of your forces passage through their lands. That also means they wont let you retreat back through their lands if you're in trouble. So if you are to flee or get reinforcements you'll need them through the sea and they'll need to move all the way through the Vilebranch lands.

@thomas - I banked your gold as it was unneccesary for what you asked to do.

Blue Bacon and ELITEOFWARMAN9 have been dropped due to not getting orders in on time.

His Majesty King Terenas, and the people of Lordaeron, remain committed as always to the eradication of the trolls and the threat they pose to honest and superior human states and civilizations. Rest assured that we will come to your aid should the trolls ever become a direct threat to Stromgarde's safety.

CC: Quel'thalas

Hear now that in order to avenge the ignominious capture of King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind, the "Rogue Prince" and all who serve shall be granted no mercy should they be captured or defeated on the field. Quel'thalas and its people must know now that in such an event, the agents of law and justice in Lordaeron shall not hesitate to put the rogue prince and his servants to death for their crimes against humanity and the Northern Alliance. We shall not rest until justice has been done.

The fists came down on the table in one swift downward motion, clearly displaying the anger of the man at the head of the table. His beard quivered as he visibly calmed himself.

"Danath, are you saying our brave men died for nothing? Are you saying Stormwind is doomed to fall?" There was, under the outer layer of hardness, an almost pleading look in Thoras' eyes as he asked his nephew.

"Yes and no my dear Uncle. Yes, Stormwind is doomed to fall without Lordaeron's men. But no, they did not die for nothing! They died, delaying the Horde! They died because they knew that was what it would take to slow them down....and we shall make the best of the time they gave us! You know my position on this uncle." Danath finished.

"Yes, yes, I do. Take care of the trolls at our flanks and secure their resources for the fight against the Horde. We have already seen the Dwarven armies pose no threat to the Horde even when defending their mighty fortresses. Their most convenient choke point against the horde was ransacked this past month. But what if we get bogged down attacking the trolls? Its only a matter of time until the Orcs either create a navy, or run rampant over the dwarves straight to us." Thoras proceeded to run a hand over his balding head in frustration at Stromgarde's situation.

"Kul Tiras wont let them build up or strike with any significant naval force. And we won't get bogged down. The Vilebranch pose no threat whatsoever to our forces, trained and elite as they are. Plus, our forces need the experience of WAR, not just random battles, before we send them into any fight against the Horde." Danath said passionately.

"Very well, my nephew. And so Stromgarde marches in a crusade against Trolls, only to prepare for a Crusade against Orcs. So be it." Thoras said with an air of finality.

Sorry for the double post, but for some reason that story was delayed by the forums, as it was supposed to go up before the update. Anyhow:

I went through without asking permission because on the front page it does in fact say that countries can usually send armies through the lands of other countries without any consequences, unless you have a particularly unpleasant relationship with the other country. Quoted:

"Armies can pass through other nations without actually waging war, and will only be considered an aggressive act if the NPC or PC who's lands you are crossing through dislike you immensely."

Im not arguing with it, but I took that to mean that permission was not normally required. Will act accordingly in the future. Also, I had a feeling I wouldn't have enough time to do all of what I had asked, but I threw it all in there just in case I could.

We thank you for remaining committed to eradicating the troll threat. If you wish to send aid to our war, we will not deny it, but nor do we ask it of you.

Also, you should know our small but efficient navy of frigates is actively searching for the rogue elven prince, and now their search shall include the captured Stormwind prince as well. Had we known ahead of time that he was to be leaving the safety of our lands, we would have assigned him an escort ourselves.

We are sorry we have offended you so. We merely needed to make haste to eliminate the troll threat as we have heard rumors that they have been summoning some great evil with their Shamans, and there was no time to ask for permission. We hope that we can make this failure to ask you for permission up to you in the future so we can remain on friendly terms.

Surrender now and exodus from your lands to somewhere far away from civilization or we shall massacre your people. You have been warned.

We are glad to hear you have held out after such an attack. If you can hold out until we secure our flanks against these villainous trolls, we shall be glad to reinforce your position. And of course should you or your people need refuge, Stromgarde is open to you. As a note, Lordaeron and our navies are both actively hunting for that rogue elven prince and your prince that he captured. Have no fear, we shall find him.

We do not fear da humans. You continue to push through our lands and you will be defeated, you pathetic humans are cut off from your own lands and if you wish to see dem ever again you be needing da help of more men which wont come. We will place your heads on pikes and plant dem pikes in front of your castle.

To: Vilebranch Trolls

Fortunately you won't live to regret this beyond seeing your villages pillaged and your land seized and your children slaughtered. But don't worry, we will kill you. We will end this sore on Azeroth that is called a "Tribe of Trolls".
