I'll wait for the reviews to see how good it is. I'm pretty satisfied with Civ4 as it is; why should I spend more money on an expansion? That's the curse of making such a great product, it's hard to expand on it.

It would be a good idea to wait for expansion no. 2 (knowing firaxis there will be one, and rightly so) and buy the gold edition.

Don't plan to. I only play SGs these days and would only consider buying the expansion, if there were no more vanilla SGs.
Edit: Looking at the fact sheet i only find the "Core game Tweaks and additions" of particular interest.

I don't think it justifies for topic... It's like posting every Civ related poll twice, first in Civ forum and then in OT After all this is OT forum not Civ forum.
