Paradox Interactive games

Cornwall is not an easy nation to start as. I managed to (re)unite the UK as a modified Cornwall (made the base income higher and changed the Dynasty name to my surname :mischief:) which was fun but tricky.

Good starting nations in CK are Apulia, Barcelona and Flanders. The former is probably my favourite nation in the game. Small enough to allow you take take the game in your preferred direction but big enough that you don' spend the first 100 years twiddling your thumbs.

Thanks for the tips. I've been reading some AARs today and studying the manual a bit more closely, so I think I'm prepared for round 2. I'll give some of those easier places a try, but I don't plan to give up on Cornwall no matter how hard it is. The South West shall rise again!

I recommend this mod for next time you try a Cornish game. It adds in the Cornish culture, as well as a few other minor improvements. It also lets you play from before the Battle of Hastings, which is a lot easier.

Cheers. :)

I've just been playing as Apulia and it's sooo much easier. I've taken over Sicily and as soon as I save up enough money I'm declaring myself the King.

I just have one question about marriage. I've figured out how to check the list of potential brides, but when I go to some of the provinces it doesn't always give me the option of asking that girl. I was wondering if that means the AI has asked first and it's busy considering that proposal or if there's another reason.

I'm too busy to read through this thread right now but apparently Paradox were (or are?) giving away codes with their newsletter to get Crusader Kings Complete for free. If someone has time and wants to check it out, have a look and see if it's still available.

The newsletter is not available unless you were already signed up at the time (i.e. they're not sent out retroactively). I do however have a spare code, as I already own a copy of Crusader Kings: Deus Vult.

I don't need one either, but I don't get the newsletter and have no spare to give away. Oh well!

Ah I just asked in another thread if it was too late. Well I'd be a taker if you are advertising your code to the vast CFC public, but if you have a closer friend on here who wants it I wouldn't put you on my black list either ;) PM me if you dare.

I love it when companies give games away- makes it feel like they really care about the customer.

Thanks for the notice. I was just going to wait for CK2, but this begs the question: How good is Crusader Kings compares to EU3? It only had one start date, so does it feel as limited as EU:Rome (though EUR feels limited due to the small amount of playable nations )does?

CK has three start dates, but it's on the EU II engine, so it's got noticeably dated graphics. The internecine squabbling and dynastic politics are second to none, however.

Does anyone here have Windows 7 with Hoi2 DD + the World War one Mod? If so do you have problem with downloading/opening it?

I'm downloading this. Is this basically Birth of America hybridized with Victoria?

It's basically the AGE engine from AGEOD's previous games with a good economic and diplomatic component added on. The combat will be excellent of course.

This game will be deep, complex and not for the faint of heart. Games could literally take years to complete. Lol.

It looks very promising, all in all. :)

The demo freezes when it ends the third stage of the loading screen. Does anybody have the same problem?
