PBEM Playtest of AWAW

Perfect Voltar, Welcome onboard to you too. :king:
This is going to be tough....

So, as soon as you find yourself ready Voltar, you can begin the game.

Do we all agree to use LazyCiv then? As it's the first time I am going to use it, where can I find it?

As some of you surely have noticed my English grammar and spelling is very rusty. I will try to improve. I have run through the Events.txt to remove most of the errors I could find. So, if you are tired of being annoyed by the most obvious errors, plz. download this revised Events.txt (nothing else has changed.):

The events won't change after the first player has played his turn anyway (as they are embeded into the save file).

I won't be able to use lazyciv myself just so you know, there isn't a mac version of it.

Many of the description are a bit iffy... Japense aggression talks about the lighthouse for instance... but you dont need to have a correct .txt file up right now - We'll just record them as we go along and you can sort them out at the end.

Thus the reason for the playtest :D.

~ Boli

That's okay - I just get a bit embarrassed when I see those mistakes, or worse when other points them out :o :) But yeah, that was my original intention before starting this PBEM game besides hoping for a fun game.

Now we can only wait for Voltar.

*shrugs*

If you do something completly by yourself there are bound to be mistakes you didn't pick up on... that is why we are here.

Also don't rely too much on our command of English, even if it is our first language :D.

~ Boli

The war begins!

German forces invade Poland, in reciprication French and British declare war on the Third Reich. Some naval combat in the Atlantic & off the coast of England several British ships sunk.

Declaration of war issued against Germany.
One German destroyer and one submarine sunk in the north sea.

Britain is devoting all resource to mobilization.

OOC:
How are we going to handle the minor axis and allies?

I'm pretty sure I'm next *wonders* and I hope I did everything right... anyway her's my turn (setting the scene and all that)

China still refusing to accept Japanese rule

As our continuing campaign to find a large living space on the mainland to stem our overgrown population draws into a new era we see many guerrilla tactic employed by the distrustful Chinese as they continue to ignore our words of peace and accept their destiny of rule from Kyoto.

Fighting in the mountains against the remaining Chinese troops shows no signs of abating, and even though casualties are light on both sides this looks to be the start of a drawn out war that the Japanese people do not need.

Free Trade

With calls of Free Trade for all and no tariffs, an echo of the old days when the British ships rules the waves the Superior Japanese Navy left harbour in full colours. Lord Boli hopes for peaceful waters in the East and his navy is there to make sure he lives up to his promise.

Italian Safety

He also addressed the League of Nations asking that no-one attack his Allies in the west (Minor Axis), and the stalemate between them and the French (Minor Allies) spread to other parts of Europe. He spoke long and hard on “contained conflict” and wishing to avoid another Great War. “Keep border disputes between the Nations involved not between the rest of the world,” he said.

American Disgruntlement

America kept silent throughout his speech and have yet to release a statement. We believe it is because they are worried about Japanese superiority in the water of the East. Lord Boli issue a second statement aimed at the Leader of the Great United Sates saying: “Our dispute is with China, not you”

Few notes: Zink = Zinc; Pingiuns = Penguins

STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS
George S. Patton has been appointed general superior with full command of the american armed forces. As his first action in office, he ordered naval exercises in the pacific, to finetune the american fleet for potential hostilities there.

SCIENTISTS MAKE AMAZING DISCOVERY
American scientists surprised to find penguins in the Arctic! :p

USA AND BRITAIN SIGNS 'PACIFIC PACT'
The USA and UK this week agreed to come to each others aid if either are attacked by a foreign power. 'We will brook no aggression' so said the spokesman.

Here's a overview map of the game so far. I suggest we update this map once in a while to get an idea of the game's progress.
It is simply a matter of exchanging the colours of the city markers.
