PBEM Playtest of AWAW

Stavenger Taken.

In the east Koenigsberg has been reinforced. And several Soviet Infantry have been bombed out of existance.

Yah that's it. Sorry Eivind but Business is business.

Yeah! It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it ;)

I have nothing of interest to report...

War News:

Lord Boli is pleased

The Allied force approaching Indochina was summarily destroyed in a surprise bombing raid, also in an insult to the ineffectual United States Navy, shells from the superior Japanese navy fell in the Hollywood hills and several of the stars home have been know to have been hit. Elsewhere in the city the home guard was wiped out as the intense bombardment continued, and after a brief battle the whole of the Philippines now falls under the protection of the rising Sun

Russian Stalemate

Elsewhere the Russian defensive campaign dug its heal in further and in a turn around in Politics Lord Boli has sent an envoy to the Russian Communist government offering a place in the Pacific arena irrespective of the consequences of the European war. “We seek only the living space to evolve as a nation, and Russian soil holes no liking for us – only men of Russian stock find warmth in its bleak wilderness.”

Peace in our Time?

Boli’s rhetoric continued with an offering of a shaky truce with the British forces, “The Pacific theatre of war surly holds no flavour for you, your efforts against the mighty Japanese empire can only be in vain, is it worth following your American so-called allies into a watery grave. I offer this once: withdraw to Burma and we shall leave you with everything below its latitude. Japan will need a trading partner in the post war years.”

Sachalin Islands Captured:

Soviet Marines have planted the red flag on the former Japanese Sachalin Islands. In a bold midnight attack 2 fierce divisions took the strong defenders completely by surprise overrunning any resistance. With this strategic position taken the Sea around Vladivostok is now safe.

Progress in Mongolia:

The Soviet Airforce reports that the northern Japanese city of Charbin has been completely destroyed by high flying PE-2 bombers. Follow-up recon planes confirms that a Japanese fighter and a bomber wing was destroyed on the ground in the attack.
Elsewere STAVKA reports that a Japanese division marching against a forward airbase has been destroyed.

Progress against Germany - Königsberg taken:

Meeting only desperate resistance from a single German panzer grenadier division Soviet forces yesterday captured the city of Königsberg. With more and more divisions arriving from beyond the Urals, it is now only be a matter of time before the German army must begin a full retreat.

Koenigberg assaulted and bombed, several defenders destroyed, but the city remains in soviet hands.

In France Dijon has fallen.

An Airbase on the coast of England has been heavily shelled, several divisions destroyed.

BTW I just wanna say this is an excellent scenario, and this is defintly the most entertaining PBEM I am currently in, as the Boney2 tourney is stagnant. So let's keep this one moving!

Lord Boli is pleased.

The ever-advancing empire has captured the islands of Wake and the city of Indochina. With the American press speaking over their victory in the battle of the Caroline’s they had reported the news before the battle was even over. The recent rethink of navel warfare allowed a second wave of shipping to target and destroy the parading fleet right in their tracks.

Elsewhere he was disappointed to learn that the Soviets had stormed the ill defended Sachalin Islands but he was so buoyed up by the news that another heavy bombardment on the west coast of America, that he spent lavishly on new ships coming off the production line, giving them all solid gold lifebelts.

This time it was the city of San Francisco that suffered leaving much of the American west coast undefended, there have even been several unconfirmed reports of a massive population movement away from the opening war front

And finally with envoys between the British admiralty and our great emperor we have forged a cease-fire between the two nations, and our emperor (may his name live forever) is optimistic about a permanent peace treaty.

~ Boli

Playtest - what playtest - I'm enjoying this game :D

Japan and Germany is on the move... The allied powers seems to rely so far on the Soviet Union, to halt the Axis powers' advancing progress...

Nice job on that Map thing Morten. Forgot to mention it to you yesterday, but that is of cause unimportant now. :goodjob:

I agree with you Voltar. It is great that the turns are played so fast by every player. Makes it almost as playing live. Goodjob everyone! :king:

Soviet News:

Köningsberg receives fresh reinforcements dugging in already in anticipation of the next German counteroffensive.

All quiet before the storm in Mongolia.

Helsinki, Sofia and Batum falls into Soviet hands.

General News:

It is now January 1940.

-I have been aware of that I am the only person getting the random event texts, so I will of cause post these messages in my posts under "General News".

Huge Domestic Reforms in the Empire of the Rising Sun this month, and after listening to the American “hot air” on the useless islands Japanese forces are now occupying Lord Boli pointed out the recently captured oil fields of North Borneo that is not only helping the war effort but is breathing new life into it.

Elsewhere a navel engagement outside Los Angeles harbour saw the Japanese Battle ship “Kamikaze” destroyed the aptly named American ship “Hope”, with little loss of life on the Japanese side, and in a rare moment of international corporation Japanese lifeboats helped ferry the surviving sailors into the victorious ship. Their shame at their eagerness to be captured will ring down through the ages.

And finally in the west our brave Soldiers hold firm against the approaching Russians, and apart from a few forays in bomber raids our Generals are under orders to hold firm, “We seek no Russian Soil”

United States discover Blietzkrieg Concept, which is immediately shared with Great Britain and the Soviet Union, in respect of the alliance against the Axis powers. I strongly advise not to share this with the AI powers, to make sure this knowledge does not fall into the wrong hands.

Rumours say that Albert Einstein has defected to the US and is secretly working on a weapons project that will alter the course of the war seriously in favour of the Allies.

In other news, a japanese battleship was sunk near Los Angeles without great fuss. San Francisco is now producing a sparkling new battleship every two rounds.

Argggg :saiyan:
