PH12: Men in Tights

A all forest start... meh. At least we will have a lot of wood to chop for our wonders

I like 1E... settle there if you don't discover something like a riverside grassland FP gold

Its arboria. An all-forest map. We can chop like crazy. Just need to leave one spot for national park :D

okay, looks good to me. i already moved the settler, and think we should found there next turn.

first research: Hunting > Mining > BW?? first build: warrior > worker > warrior

We got the 3 deer after all

Hunting > Mining > BW sounds good. Then perhaps Misticism > Masonry (or just masonry) to hook up marble

I would start with Worker > Warrior > Warrior tho. Hunting is a fast tech, it will be in before the worker is done, so we can start improveing right away. By the time the 3 deer are camped (will take about 15 turns i think) BW will be close. If some turns are left the worker can mine the one unforested hill or farm something, so he will not be ideling.

k...i like that idea; i forget that deer don't need to chopped to be camped.

post if you have any others everyone, but otherwise, i will be going with this in about 6 hours or so.

Deer ,deer , lovely deer....

Refar path sounds good...

But one question: early wonders. Mids look like a must , but GW would be pretty handy as well. Oracle with Marble looks like a lock if we want to, but 3 early wonders is overkill.

Spot onsite please :bump:

Research-wise Mining, BW, Hunting, Wheel, Masonry.

As builds, warrior then worker on pop 2. The guy should farm one (as Sumer we got Agr on the start) and mine the plain hill, than chop one deer and camp it. Once the wheel is in, road toward the marble and quarry it. The timing is approx but should do well ;)

EDIT: Forgot the deer don't have to be chopped too

We should get another worker on hand too for chopping and the second city - GW for the early spy ?

I wouldn't worry about 3 early wonders - that's why we are industrious. Oracle with Ind+Marble does not count anyway - its like one chop + 3 turns build.

It would be nice to drop the GW in the second city. Sending a Worker (or two if we have them) with the settler right away, Chop the Great Wall as first build in the new town.
1) Spreading early wonders is good for land grab / Culture target.
2) The Capitals GPP pool will most likely be polluted by other wonders, wile we might want a 'clean' great spy city.

Great start! Agree with Refar's tech path (Hunting > Mining > BW > Mysticism > Masonry) and build order (Worker > Warrior > Warrior).

We can build workers and settlers quickly with 3 deers. So maybe continue our build with Settler > Worker. First worker starts to improve city#2 while second worker can again concentrate on capital.

We don't need to worry about our defenses that much if (and when) we get GW.

2) The Capitals GPP pool will most likely be polluted by other wonders, wile we might want a 'clean' great spy city.
great point, and one i overlooked. since wonders will be our primary way to culture it up, our pool WILL be as polluted as . . . something really polluted (sorry, can't think of a good analogy)

i'll play and post this tonight.

Okay, here we go, a day late from my post, and what, a week after i first posted the game??

I settled where we wanted:

and went with hunting and a worker. meanwhile our warrior went exploring.

We met a very close neighbor, JC of the Byzantines:

and here's instanbul (NOT constantinople ~ why'd they change it, i can't say. I guess they liked it better that way)
Img03.jpg

we also met someone else:

nice, booty-khan of the Inca ~ aggressive incans??

after hunting was done, i went with mining as we discussed, and i stopped at turn 30 when our first warrior was done. the worker camped one deer and is in the middle of another. I will post an overview screen in a bit as I forgot to take one at the time, but need to start dinner now. JC founded buddhism in 3475, so that's pretty neat. i've never played unrestricted leaders before; it sets up some interesting combos.

and i had to travel pretty far back to get this ~

Better :D

I hope to play in something like 12 hours from now, in case someone want to comment :)

How long turnsets we are playing ? 15 turns and 10 in war ?

sorry ~ i keep forgetting to mention this.

Turnset length: Play until "some significant" stop point. Don't play 5 turns, don't play 30. I didn't stop on turn 30 on purpose; i stopped b/c that was just when the warrior was done. The RNGod will show you the way ;)

BW is done in around 15 ~ play up till there, and we can see where copper is and make up a dotmap for ourselves. Here's the overview shot i promised:

mmm . . . double d's . . . (do they measure bra sizes that way internationally? ;) ) ~ *ahem*

i like that but we can only get one deer w/o losing lighthouse access for the city. also, want to see copper before a dotmap.

2S of lake catches it all... but I agree... cooper or horsies first

P.S I suppose you meant 1S of cows, isn't it? And typing error will be corrected soon, leaving other ppl thinking that pholk is a :crazyeye: ( if they don't think that already  )

another note: Ozbenno, Rex and I are going to try some MP tomorrow (later today for those across the ocean) @ 6 am est (gmt +5). PM me here or at DM if anyone's interested ~ :goodjob:

Uh well... That were some long 12 hours ... The report on the other hand is rather short

Turns 30 - 43 / 3250BC to 2925BC

Turn 34: Hindusim FIADL

Turn 36: Warrior is done. He Stay in Uruk and will hit everyone who dares to whine about "Fear for our safety" with his big Club.

Turn 37: "WAAAAH!!!!. What a ugly dude!!!" And he's also the recent founder of Hinduism.
Spoiler :
victoriazy2.jpg
Turn 41: Another Warrior done. He should stick around Uruk to escort the Settler later. Start Settler which should be ready for a whip in a couple of turns.

Turn 43: BW in. We have Copper within reach... And we happen to have Vulture as UU... Best Target would be Constantinople, however, he's below us in core right now... So unless Julius improves his score (Maybe by Building us a Shrine :mischief:) we will have to skip rushing him...

In any case we should grab the Copper quickly - Julle is IMP/ORG - he will spam cities soon.

I did not revolt to slavery yet. i usually wait just before the first whip is to be done. Should be in 2 turns...

Settler is in Production. I think 2 pop whip should be avaiable in 2 or 3 turns. After that i would apply the Chop in Progres to a new Worker - timing should fit, but better check it, then build something else for 2 or 3 turns to regrow, then come back to worker to finish him. The Warrior wandering just W of Uruk is meant as escort for the Settler - he was just bored sitting around in town... But don't let him wander off to far away :D

The research is set on Masonry in the save, but actually i think we should do Mysticism first - it makes Masonry a bit cheaper, and we will need it for the Monuments anyway.

Here is a flatened map with all the ressources:
