Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

umm, it's a spoiler tag for a reason...

Uhm, yes. That's why I spoiler tagged it, and said "major spoilers". Oh, and the tag follows "Ending". I figure anybody that still clicks the tag after that either wants or deserves to be spoiled. :p

EDIT: There, I made it a little more explicit that you should not click unless you really want spoiled. ^_^;

Speaking of dead mans chest, Keira needs to get breast implants asap.

She's absolutely gorgeous, just way too scrawny. She needs a few heaping servings of arroz con frijoles y picadillo.

Yes, arroz con pollo would be good too.

@Classical, yes its evil to show that pic in a discusiion of KK;)

@ Classical Hero, eww. What the hell was that all about?

Anyway, I loved the movie, thought it was way better than the first one. At the end, I still wanted more (even though the movie was 2 and a half hours, ) because that was one of the best movie cliffhangers ever. I really liked at the begging how it was rainy and dark, a nice change from the first one. I actually liked the complicated plot, though alot of critics didn't.

Okay folks, so I saw it last night, and I loved it. The whole mocie was just action action action, I didn't like how Jack had to be a douchebag the whole movie, though, I liked him better the first time around. Also, where did Barbarossa come from? I KNOW he was dead, Jack shot him. I did like the cliffhanger, though, I wasn't excpecting the movie to just up-and end like that. I look forward to the third movie!

BTW, this inspired me to buy Sid Mier's Pirates!; i have been playing it all day it is seriously one of the best games I've played in a long time.

I thought the movie was great...

... and think Keira is perfect the way she is. Any woman who ruins her body with implants needs to be either in porn or dancing on a pole

I absolutely loved the original, it was a real treat to play war in the Carribean, all that political manouevering, whose side were you on? if you were clever you could be on everyones, make admiral as a Spaniard symapthiser and you could always march into there more dubious ports with tonnes of booty regardless of your new trangressions against them, I really should get this game at some point, but I fear it may not live up to my expectations, and some reviews I've seen are critical, but then It's the same with POC, I loved the first film, but fear the dreaded curse of the sequel, I think if your a fan though it will deliver, maybe I should take the same tack with Pirates.:)

I'd really like I high def picture of the last shot of Jack for my desktop if anyone's got it.

The second Pirates! is really something, I thoughoughly enjoy it. They did make a few changes, like no sea vs land battles, but you hardly miss them. Since the start of this game I've been an English Privateer, and just a fw minutes ago I finished taking all of Hispaniola for the Brits!

As would I.

In the vain of Sir Francis Drake, one of the most successful English Privateers/pirates, good work, now sail back to England get knighted and the rest is history :)

In reality you could never take Hispaniola without getting a deal of reprisal, but I did it in the original too, almost, left Panama, can't take that over, left Curacao as it was Dutch and a rich port to trade with, and a few of the mediocre Spanish ports and Couldn't be bothered with Maracaibo. Sounds great though, I'm putting this on my booty list, thanks.:)

I learn't every stripe of the land masses and could find anywhere from memory looking at the maps, as fast as possible - mispent days - hopefully returning for a treasure galleon or silver train, in scant time. My angle was to make as much money as possible and then when the moral was abysmal, just get enough of your crew killed that the money balanced out so well they forget their troubles, it aint moral, but the lions share was always appreciated. I wonder if they still have the long lost cousin thing, the rescue acquired from maps, that was fun.

Anyway way OT I apologise.

AAAHHHHH MY EYES!!

I didn't really like the first one that much. Probably won't see this one.

The first one was very predictable and offered a highly stereotyped rather than refreshing and interesting take on "arrrrr! pirates!". The actors didn't offer any new interpretations of pirates, the writers gave us what we would have expected (ghosts, peg legs, bottles of rum, sword fights, swinging on ropes etc), the production design was down the line with expectations and so on.

I don't have a problem with genre films at all. But I do get bored easily when they get stuck in the genre and offer nothing but that. We simply expect more these days. Give us some ingenuity, some savvy wink, some innovation. Or else I'll go watch an Errol Flynn film instead.

Anyway, all this combined to keep my appreciation of how well produced the film was generally from rising up and winning the day.

I won't be bothering to see the second one. Same sh!t, different roll of film.
