I can recall one shooting in Germany. It happened in Erfurt in 2002. Apparently, another one took place in Cologne in 1964. Here is a wiki link to school massacres.

Oh, come on. That's one of the more ridiculous conspiracy theories I've heard here.

It's been pretty quiet for a while, then all of a sudden these come in rapid sucession.

You have to admit it is convienent with that bill going around.

And this wouldn't have happened if schools weren't gun-free zones. It become shooting fish in a barrel without anything around to protect them. What were they to do? Throw shoes?

I think it's unlikely that the shooter (who was not a student) was Amish. Non-Amish families in Amish country, at least in Ohio where I've been (family in Holmes County), have all of the usual amenities.

I sort of remember it happening in Canada and I vaguely recall it happening in Australia ... (could be wrong).

But would we hear it if it happened in Albania, Sri Lanka, Bolivia or Lesotho?

For the same reason all of us in this thread are obsessing about it right now. Pretty much every time a school shooting happens, a thread about it is going to pop up in Off Topic.

This shooting was not the fault of society or video games or whatever else, and there WAS no reason for it--it was simply some idiot with a screw loose.
