It warms my heart to see no one has voted for Firefly yet.

ssh! you'll get the haters out of the woodwork.

say... your coat is kind of a brownish colour!

More than glad to do so, friend. I also second the opinion of Gilder that Firefly is probably one of the most overrated shows on the Internet. I don't happen to know enough people otherwise who are too obsessive about any of these shows (unlike, for instance, American Idol in the other thread) so it got my vote. Firefly simply wasn't special at all - sure, it could have gone somewhere, but the existing episodes aren't that great. It seems people like it out of spite (at the network because it got cancelled) or fanboyism of Joss Whedon. Plus it only ever seems to be Americans, and angry anarchist types at that who like Firefly (I guess they need something to make up for irrational hatred of Star Trek or Star Wars or whatever else...). I'd be happy to see supporters of Firefly show their faces - I actually haven't seen many on CFC.

I'm going to have to cast my vote for M*A*S*H. I've never been able to sit through an episode of it without starting to doze off or want desperately to change the channel for some reason or another. Which is a shame, as I really like the movie. All it seems to do for me is remind me of why I'm glad I didn't have to live through the era in which it aired, and also that the generation responsible for its longevity still hasn't gotten over itself.

Firefly. Couldn't get excited by it at all.

MASH did come to mind almost immediately on seeing the thread title, but it did have some good episodes; Just way too much stupid banter.

CSI and Lost are not on the list? :( (edit: ignore this, I'm an idiot)

anyway, form the choices present, I'd go with Seinfeld.

Can't say much against the American stereotype, but I'm the farthest thing from an anarchist. As for complaints about episode quality, did you watch all of them? Jaynestown and War Stories are simply distilled quality television.

I mistakenly voted for Other. I didn't notice Friends was there. Most of the choices on that list shouldn't be there, because they aren't awful. Star Trek, Monty Python, MASH, for instance.

I saw the Firefly movie, and it was ok, but how could that show generate so much love? I don't understand. I never saw the TV show.

It was a hard call between Friends and Seinfeld, as I think that both shows were equally horrible. However I ended up voting for Seinfeld, as a lot of people refer to it as the best sitcom of all time, and few people say the same about Fiends, um, I mean Friends.

Come on, best sitcom of all time has to go to something like Cheers, or All in the Family, or if you prefer the family type sitcom, maybe The Cosby Show. My dark horse entry in the upper eschelon of sitcoms is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Goofy and silly, yes, but it was always funny and it helped launch Will Smith's acting career. Think about it, if not for that show, we'd probably still be listening to him try to sing.

I don't think Everybody Loves Hypnotoad isn't all it's cracked up to be.

naa...Just kidding It's great.

The Firefly movie was pretty terrible, but I thought the show was much better. Still, certainly many take their adulation too far.

Was Friends really highly rated? Maybe just the people I know, but I can't say I've ever met anyone who said it was a very good show. I know a lot of people watched it, but people can have admittedly guilty pleasures.

Yeah but remember that all we cool people on the internet, have always pretended not to like Friends.
