AI should also improve resources even without monopolies mode...

I haven’t tried playing a game without monopolies mode enabled...do AI Civs act normally and farm/mine multiple luxuries without the mode on?

In my many tries with the mode on, the only time a civ had a luxury during the entire game it was cause of a Suzerian CS get or they accidentally farmed one and got lucky.

Anyone know why I can't send a trade route from Faro to Stirling? It's within normal land trading range and it's coastal, so per Portugal's abilities I should be able to send a route there. Does Portugal have to send international routes by water? If so they really need to add that to their abilities...

I think the Trade Route needs to be sent on Water, from what I've heard and seen.

Ok so their ability is more limiting than we initially thought. They can only send sea Trade Routes.

Considering that zombies spawn were an unit died, it might be a valid strategy to avoid killing units inside your territory at all cost, at least near your capital.

OK yeah, Portuguese architecture is absolutely borked. Looks like they're supposed to use a slightly altered version of Brazil's architecture, where the lower half of the white-walled buildings is made blue. But they only got the palace and the larger blocks working. The small individual houses are broken in the code and thus use the game's default architecture (which is the standard European one). Now I've just gotta wait for Leugi's City Styles mod to update so I can actually bear to look at the city centers... :cringe:
Spoiler broken architecture, eugh :

I just can't grasp (mostly a wording issue for me) what this UI/Polish update does to somehow "enhance/*differentiate*" the Leader-Pools (#1 & #2 ??)..

* Added new icons for the Leader Selection Pool to help differentiate pools.

Could anyone clarify this for me please? Ideally with a snapshot involving the "new icons" in question.

The new way that jersey system colour clashes seems a bit too strict. Portugal and Scotland, that's fine, they are both blue on white. Portugal and Canada clashes, so does Scotland and Japan. It appears to be basing the conflict solely on the primary colour, and not taking in to account that the secondary colours could be vastly different. An example might be Russia and Ethiopia - both yellow primaries, but one uses black and the other green for their text and markings.
I know you can just choose an alternate colour strip, but this just seems a tad heavy-handed to me.

Why not just put up the warning, and then still run with the "clash" jersey colours? (i.e. let the player decide. If they want four green and four blue civs, then let them. I am a big fan of player advocacy.)

Isn't that Middle Eastern or Mesopotamian architecture in the bottom picture?

I agree that you should be allowed to tell the game "No, I'm really truly sure I wanna use clashing jerseys. It's fine, I don't mind."
I'm guessing the reasoning was that they wanted to avoid the minimap being such that you can't tell where a border is between civs with the same background. But I think a better solution would be drawing a line between borders so you can always tell.

It's the AncientBrick style, which is what Portugal uses in the Ancient era and explains why it's seen here (Civs continue to have their Ancient era architecture appear in small amounts up until the Industrial era). Tho I do wonder If Portugal was supposed to use that style for the Ancient era, since it's the Ancient era default architecture which shows up if you break the coding for what's supposed to show up.

They put a numeral 1 and a numeral 2 as an icon beside the pool selection. I'll post a screenshot in a bit.

The jersey system was added to reduce confusion, sure, but also to help color blind people. It used to be even more strict, matching pretty much just the primary color. It's actually not as bad, now.

Did you actually read the ability? What you're asking about is in the very first sentence. It was also described in the preview video and in the live stream.

International Trade Route Trade Routes can only be sent to cities on the coast or with a Harbor, but gain a +50% increase to all yields. Traders have +50% range over water, and can embark as soon as they are unlocked.

The ability doesn't specify that they have to sent over water and not everyone watches the videos or remembers all the details.

Uh yeah, I did read it. "International Trade Routes can only be sent to cities on the coast or with a Harbor" - ok, so if a trade route is being sent internationally, the destination city must either 1) be on the coast, or 2) have a Harbor; otherwise, the trade route is invalid. Stirling is on the coast, so it satisfies criteria 1 and thus is (according to the description) an eligible trade route destination. Nonetheless, it is not available as an option in the game. Nothing in the description states that international trade routes must also cross water.

I mean, I guess. It seemed obvious to me, but fair enough. I guess the ability doesn't specifically say "water only". For what it's worth, your trade route actually can go over land from your city to the water. It just can't cross other land.
