Pre-FC/CrezNES Thread: 1836

Cheers. :)

On that note, could anybody who had any dealings with the Netherlands of any importance please PM me/forward the conversations they had?

Thanks in advance.

would it be possible to push the deadline back to Sunday, I am going on tour with my marching band, and I will not be back until Sunday afternoon. If not, ill try to cobble together something tonight

OOC: Isn't Russia taken?

Two heads better than one and all.

In other news, Nuka, if you've been wanting to get in touch with me, I'm planning on getting around to my orders tomorrow. Masada knows pretty much everything I do though, if you've already talked to him.

Oh, and SouthernKing, you've mildly sparked my interest, so you're getting a nice diplomatic mission this year. They might get lost in all those mountains though, so a map attached to some sort of welcome committee would be nice.

Too bad Symph made his long-standing DL resign from the game. Would've been interesting to see France and Japan played by the same person.

Well, try to get something together ASAP. I'll start work on the update Friday night anyway.

And Kraz is going to be dropping Russia. I have asked Wrymouth to take up the mantle.

OOC: Prussia/Frozen_in_Ice?

Yes. Additionally, if you need certain information, wikipedia is a useful free resource that can answer questions like "what religion is Austria."

and how am I not?

Not knowing where a nation is before you claim it, asking Out of Character questions In Character, asking OOC questions in the main thread, not the OOC thread, etc

To be fair he is completely new to this it looks like. Give him some time, I think we all did fairly silly things before we got used to neses.

But of course, some leapt into the nesing fully formed. :p

I'm willing to offer private help for anything whatsoever.

Sorry, I was trying to help. I didn't mean to sound snarky

Suddenly it got very dark, and very, very radical. Martyn looked around and watched storm clouds roll in from the east. The wind began to pick up and then, in that moment, Martyn knew what he had to do. Pulling out his electric guitar, Martyn knew it was time. Time to be come king of Sexony. Somewhere, someone was playing a totally banging bass line.

One will be sent. But there are no mountains along our border :p

The Agency refuses to give me more manpower, so I can only focus on so much at one time.

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
of the REPUBLIC OF CALIFORNIA

Signed in Congress in the City of Sonoma
October 1st, 1837

When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.

When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants...

We, therefore, the delegates with plenary powers of the people of California, in solemn convention assembled, appealing to a candid world for the necessities of our condition, do hereby resolve and declare, that our political connection with the Mexican nation has forever ended, and that the people of California do now constitute a free, Sovereign, and independent republic, and are fully invested with all the rights and attributes which properly belong to independent nations; and, conscious of the rectitude of our intentions, we fearlessly and confidently commit the issue to the decision of the Supreme arbiter of the destinies of nations.

While I understand that you are using whatever rhetoric you can to progress you plan, I don’t feel its fair for you to sign the document from the City of Sonoma. You have no forces in Sonoma, nor do you have any influence over that territory.

The 2000 unfamilied men you sent towards Californa are still somewhere around Arizona. They still have to cross the Rocky mountains, in December, January.

Prior to the arrival of new immigrants, the population of Californa could be divided as follows:
Spanish Descent 7000 39%
"Domesticated" or "Civilized" Indians 10,000 56%
Americans/Anglos 700 4%
Irish/Scotch/English 100 1%
French/German/Italians 100 1%

In addition, last turn, we received a VERY considerable number of immigrants from Spain, the Indian territories, and elsewhere. As described in the update, the majority were Spaniards fleeing the high taxes, the violence, and the liberalization of Spain. These numbers amounted to 184,022. These were specifically targeted to New Mexico Territory and California territories. Lets say only 25% of these actually got to California (so far), the population statistics for California become,

Spanish Descent 53006 82.9%
"Domesticated" or "Civilized" Indians 10,000 15.6%
Americans/Anglos 700 1.1%
Irish/Scotch/English 100 0.2%
French/German/Italians 100 0.2%

There is no possible way that there would be a rebellion movement in California in favor of joining with Tejas as some form of confederation.

I feel what you are doing, Chiefdesigner, is not realistic.

As such I will assume (correct me if I am wrong Crezth) that your declaration was signed in Tejas, not in California. There simply isn’t a rebel movement in California at present.

Additionally, the entirety of your rhetoric is false. None of the things you described actually happened.
1) The provinces continue to hold substantial power and are protected under the Constitution of 1924.
2) We are a republic, not a military dictatorship. This was a hard-fought victory for us and one we are not eager to give it up so away quickly.
3) You can rest assured that the interests of much more than the military and Catholic Church are represented in our government.

Please translate.

* As acknowledged by the delegates, both Northern and Southern, to her Constitutional Convention, the Republic of California is, due to her climate and geography, wholly unsuitable for the institution of chattel slavery. The importation of slaves to Californian soil is thus not allowed.

* The United Provinces of North America invite the Republic of Texas and the Republic of California to send delegates to a Convention, to discuss matters of mutual interest.
-- The Republic of Texas accepts.
-- The Republic of California accepts.

What are the United Provinces of North America? Where is their capital? Who represents them?
