Pre-Order Brave New World

I've got a pretty ridiculous question. I'm American. If I were to purchase through GreenManGaming, but was out of the country when the game actually released, would I still get the game on the 9th? Would being out of the country automatically push me to the 12th?
Pricing is generally based on the country of origin of your credit card, so likely if your steam account is listing US and your credit card does, too, the game should unlock on the 9th for your account, but I'm giving no guarantee.

I'd canceled my Muve box order and went for GMG's digital offer. It's going to be my first preorder there so I'll have to wait and see how it works. It would be nice to get my serial earlier. Steam doesn't handle calendar exceptionally well and some games unlock earlier than they should. At least in Poland.

Btw, does anyone know whether it's possible to change default currency in steam, gmg or any other platform like these? Both EUR and USD are foreign to me so I need to exchange my money in every case but prices in USD are usually better for me. Not to mention all the cases where nominal price in both currencies is the same.

Probably not. If you are paying by Credit or Debit card the service provider or bank will do the conversion, and probably charge you about 2.5% for doing it. I used Gaming Dragon with payment through Paypal.

It depends on the site. Most sites are increasingly smart about figuring out which country you're from and thus serving you the appropriate price. But if you're in a country that isn't recognised, you might be able to switch currency.

For instance, to get the US pricing on Steam, use:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/235580/?cc=us
However, steam may automatically switch back to euro if your credit card isn't American.

GMG also does it country specific, but it messes up, for instance in Netherlands it serves a price in euro, but in France it serves the price in GBP. :crazyeye: So if Poland isn't recognised, play with the country letters and see if you get a break.

Cancelled my Gamingdragons order at $26 and pre-ordered from GMG for $20. Sweet. Now its a waiting game.

Just ordered my copy from GreenManGames too. I think I preordered my copy of G+K from them, though I can't remember for sure. I do remember playing G+K within an hour of it being released, however, so if it was from them they got it to me in time.

Here's hoping I get so lucky again. =)

I've just pre-ordered the game yesterday through greenmangaming.com and in the email it says,
- 6. Paste in the product activation key from below.

but there is no activation key in the email.

am I missing something?

The Keys will only be released either on release date or a date very close to it. They will send you an email about it so don't worry.

emailed them and got the same answer,

Hi,

Thank you for your ticket. You will receive your Steam activation key for this title on the day of release for your region. Keys may be released early for pre-load, but this varies from title to title and is subject to change so we do not set our dates to this for that reason.

Sorry for any confusion caused.

Regards,

thank goodness, was panicking for a sec there.

greenmangaming.com is still offering 25% off vouchers and from my experience with that store, they will continue to do so even after the game is launched, though the -10% will go away. They just change the code for digital games every week or so. Now it's GMG25-2G9OL-15PO7 and it's valid till 21.06, hence the actual price is still USD 20.25.
Updated GreenManGaming info. Voucher changed to GMG25-2G9OL-15PO7.

I found the following site but not sure if this is reliable. Did anyone used this site?

International
Moderator Action: *snip* link removed, due to the sentence stated below. - USD 14.99

Edit: Looks like it is a grey market.

Thanks for the tip on Greenman Gaming, folks! :)

I just got the BNW preorder for like 15 quid with a 25 % voucher and 10 per cent off!

I was going to preorder through greenmangaming for the %25 off, but the code wouldn't apply. After checking out their facebook page, one of their posts had a little (excludes NA) after the game. Feels like bait and switch to me, because this exclusion is NOT anywhere to be found on their voucher code promo page. I haven't used GMG too much before, and after today, I won't be ever again. Grats to those of you in other countries not being blacklisted by gmg's coupon. :crazyeye: Guess its back to old steam preorder for me.

I live in S. California and the GMG code worked for me. Perhaps you are using an older code? Check the forums because they update those codes. Anyway, I ended up buying from GMG for $20 and some change, saving almost $10 off the regular price. GMG has delivered their games just fine in the past so I'm not worried about when I'll be able to D/L it.

The GMG25-2G9OL-15PO7 voucher no longer applies for Brave New World.

They now have an offer of $4 cash back or a $6 credit with GMG.
