So, what is to be the status of Orthodoxy now that the good ole' Emperor of the Byzantines has killed the Patriarch of Constantinople? I am no expert on Orthodoxy, especially not back in the 700s, but would a new Ecumenical Patriarch be elected? Would there even be a replacement, and if not, could Sicily or Armenia take up the mantle of bastion of the Orthodox faith? Or is it up to us to decide this?

Armenia would probably be laughed by the Bishop if they tried, seeing as they are allied with the Byzantines. I think the only real division is that the Patriarch claimed leadership of the Church via lineage of the Emperors, while the Pope claimed it due to being in Rome itself.

EDIT: Without the Patriarch, there is probably enough differences only to fit a single page, MLA style, and most of it interpretational.

Anything that happened in Byzantium was done by Amon Savag. He took over before the first update even started. I never did anything with them.
