oh and Charles, should I put you down for Sweden?

Quite close? Give me a break.

StJNES4-USSA- Beat a coalition in the modern times against myself. 1 turn of punishment's all they could handle, after attacking me.

StJNES5-Rhineland(Turned into the Iron Face Empire)- Took that country from rags to riches, seriously. It was about to be invaded by everyone around it. I took it, consolidated my position, and successfully warred every turn after the second. I won at least 7 or 8 wars with that country.

StKNES World Conflicts-USEA- Took India, in the industrial erra, and eventually had european colonies, and was a very significant player in european politics. At the end, I could have smashed the 2 strongest armies in the world, and any 3 or 4 of the strongest navies in the world. It would have seriously taken a world war to take a chunk out of my empire at that point. Fought something like 5 or 6 wars. Won every one(Even in Europe).

AAminions EuroNES-PLayed Norway. Took the country, turned it into a super power, had 2 crusades called against me, each while I was on offense against western/central europe.

There's countless other NESes that I've played successfully... As I said, I've lost 2 wars, as Pacifica in StJNES4, both because there was nothing I could do about it. Since then I've fought countless (And I do mean countless) wars, and won them all. (With the exception of one draw, in a harleNES)

1. StbnES as the People's Republic of China. I invade India once, went to the brink of war with the US after I genocided the Tibetans and Uighars quite openly and they detonated nukes off my coast. I then built up my army and developed nukes in the Great Leap Forward and allied with the USSR. I then worked with the USSR and North Korea to invade South Korea and we won and defeated South Korean and US forces unifying Korea under Communism. I seized Hong Kong and Macau. NATO fell apart at somepoint. I invaded India again. And then sheep nuked the world and the game ended....

2. GoobNES as India. I first invaded Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Arabian Penisula in the first two turns building a massive empire. I carried out a genocide against the Muslims massacring all the Muslims in India, China invaded me and we fought for some time and they withdrew. Then I invaded a territory of SEATO, and the Islamic Union formed as a response to my aggression. I raised a 10,000,000 man army and fought a two front war against them. I was forced out of Arabia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan by the UIS. The US and South Africa launched an ICBM bombardment on me. I developed a deadly bioweapon called mousepox which I threthand to use. Australian forces also seized Sri Lanka. I had a Communist reveloution and joined the Comitern. Russia supported me in retaking Sri Lanka, and Austrlia's giant overground antharax warehouses got bombed and Australia was turned into a wasteland which wouldn't recover till the end of the NES. And I took back Sri Lanka. Then lets see...I rebuilt India selling my deadly bioweapons to the Muslims who used it against Spain. Comitern attacked South Africa and I used by bioweapons against South Africa as well. A lot of other stuff happend, I got hit by some goddam tidal wave that an other player made but I rebuilt from that. And then I fought another war against the UIS, it was inconclusive and we fought to a stalemate. The UIS was then destroyed by Russia and its anti-matter bombs. I quit the Comitern and became democratic. I reconciled with Pakistan, I also built myself into a superpower and intervened in Chile overthrowing the military dictatorship there and establishing a democracy. Just as I reached space a massive war broke out between Russia and the rest of the world, and the world exploded. Damn.

3. Muscovy in one's of DasNES. I fought a long and bloody war against Sweden and Poland. Long and bloody, and I had a great leader called Alexius. I think I wrote my largest amount of stories in that NES. Half of the war effort was driven by Alexius's personality itself. He was sort of like Peter the Great. The war was full of daring operations, maneuvers, and tactics. But in the end I was crushed by the combined forces of Sweden, Poland, and Dalanorossia. Damn you Dis...that was the second time as well.

4. Tibet as AFNES. No need to say anything about that. I fought two large and bloody wars against two different coalitions and smashed both coalitions building a massive empire, (the largest in the world) that stretched deep into the ravaged heart of China. That was most satisfying.

5. I just remembered one more. DisNES where I was France I necromanced Alexius back from the grave and had him lead it France. I ended up at war against the Panda's Holy Roman Empire, Cuivenen's Aragon, Faraow's Leon, Saovy, the Papal States, and for some reason I never figured out Grandmasters Scandanavia.

I ended up fighting all of them for many turns. I bloodied all of their forces, I raised havoc in Burgundy, use rocket attacks to smash Leonese armies "shredded them like paper" I believe was the words used in the update, burned large parts of Aragon including the capital (Alexius died in that campagain) In the end I lost sort of. Aragon was badly damanged, the HRE was forced to give up all of the north German states, the HRE ended up losing Burgundy, Hannover, and Pommerania which all became independent. Leon lost a lot of troops. Scandanavia made a landing which I wiped out the next turn. And just as the war appeared lost, I unified with Josef's Britain so all my enemies got very limited spoils....HAH!

6. Building Dar-Al-Islam in one of Das's NES. I modernized the Mughal Empire and reformed it and all that. I fought two wars against the Afghan Khanate. In the first I took a part of their territory. In the second war I annihilated them. Then lets see...China was getting invaded so I invaded and conquered Burma and Nepal which used to be Chinese territories. Then the Ottoman Empire was declining so I declared myself to be Caliph of Islam which the Ottomans didn't dispute and basically annexed the Ottoman Empire.

Then I conquered all of Portuguese India, the French gave me their part of India. I invaded Russian Central Asia, and conquered Central Asia from them. Egypt had broken away from the Ottoman Empire so I invaded them and conquered them, I established my control over Arabia and East Africa as well. I also conquered Sennar at some point during the BT.

It was huge, and it collapsed into 3 or so accessory states during the BT. Only one of the successor states survived. I think I still have a map of it:

Thats Dar-Al-Islam pretty much at its height.

7.
In ITNES I was the Bactarashan Empire....I pretty much lead the decline of it with various ******** policies and a war against Kalinga. I persecuted religious minorities leading to war against Kalinga, I invaded and burned their cities and raped their land and things like that. I also destroyed this Central Asian empire that attacked me. Unfourtanatley I was forced out, and the empire broke into revolt after Khmer forces landed and burnt my capital. Then Israel, Huns, and Luca invaded and Parhea revolted.

I might have survived in Central Asia but the auxiliary allies (foderati basically) I had invited to settle on my northern borders took over and the empire was destroyed. That kind of sucked.

Oh ITNES as the Hunnic Empire was fun. I raped Dacia into the ground, leaving them with one city, then allied with emu and fought against Luca. The Dacians revolted unfourtnatley and the Lucans were resurgent and managed to drive me back and even invaded the Hunnic homeland. However in the end I forced them out and the Hunnic Empire survived. So I was happy because I got to kill a lot of people, burn some cities, rape and pillage and good things like that. It collapsed during the BT though got taken over by the Onoghurian Empire.

In the same ITNES I was later on I was the Wagadou Empire, an African empire. I invaded Carthage and took most of the Sahara. And then I wa pretty much peaceful building a secure and prosperous empire. This was the one empire of mine that didn't collapse in that NES. Hah.

8. BirdNES...how could I have forgotten that one. I was Bengal and I expanded into the Gangetic Plain and met the forces of the Mughal Empire. I lost that first battle, and got pushed back. I pretended to agree to a treaty to cede land, but meanwhile I allied with alex's Ayyuthya and he sent forces and I broke the treaty and attacked the Mughal forces pushing them out of India and back into Afghanistan whence they remained. I set up an independent Punjabi buffer state between us as well. I got invaded by Tibet at one point but Ayyuthyan forces beat them back.

Then I did various things. I participated in the colonization of East Africa and such. I built up my army and fleet. I allied with the Vijaynagar Empire and crushed Bijapur. Then when Persia was getting invaded, I joined Persia, Ayyuthya, and Vijaynagar and we fought against Portogul, Ethiopia, Mali and the Mughuls.

That was great me and Vijaynagar and Ayyuthya invaded and and ravanged Portoguese East Africa effectively breaking their ruler their. And I invaded the Mughals and was driving to their capital, and the Persia's were for the most part pushing back their enemies (except Ethiopia) when the NES ended.

Well those certainly are impressive credentials Amon Savag. I believe we should try and let Silver get in something edgewise. Hopefully, your only focus won't be war as China ;)

EDIT: I spoke too soon...

EDIT2: That map of Dar-Al Islam is inspiring. You guys are making this very difficult!

Of course not. It takes a responsible warmongerer to turn wars into victories. My record speaks for itself.

Indeed it does. But isn't more than warfaring ability required to play as China? This goes to both of you.

I know. I've played the closest thing in StbNES as the People's Republic of China during the Cold War, that was my first NES as well when I was a noob. I conducted extensive diplomacy and development as well as war.

More than warfaring ability ought to be required to play as any nation. Friedrich II conducted civil reforms, Caesar was a polymath, Genghis Khan was a political mastermind.

I would very much like to claim Australia, because I am Australian, and I love the place. However, I don't really have any experience, but I will try really hard!

This is China at the beginning of the NES under Norseone who was only there for a few turns:

This is it by the end under me:

Also this is the Great Leap Forward Project referred to in the stats:

And possibly one of my best stories:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2316675&postcount=245

And these are some nice parts:

China
In Tibet and Xinjiang, Chinese forces began a brutal campaign of massacre and ethnic cleansing. Hundreds and thousands of men, women, and children were sent to concentration camps where they were killed. 200,000 Tibetans and 300,000 Muslims from Xinjiang flooded into India and Russia, asking for asylum. The government then repopulated the ethnically cleansed areas with Han Chinese, who were fiercely loyal to the Chinese government. This has been the worst massacre of a ethnic group since Hitler's killing of the Jews during World War II.

China
In China, the Chinese Government declared that they have discovered who was responsible for the genocide in Tibet and Xingjiang. The government news agency announced that Chinese authorities arrested General Xu Caihou and his Lieutenant, Zhou Wenzhong, and declared that they would be handed to the United Nations to be prosecuted. In China, Chinese military officials escorted the UN Inspection teams into the areas of reported genocide. When they arrived, the entire area looked as if it was never inhabited by anyone at all. While walking through the areas, shots were fired at the UN Inspection team. The Chinese government insists that some of the rebels who survived the Chinese military’s offensive were trying to kill the UN officials. Meanwhile, UN teams entered Russian and Indian refugee camps that housed survivors of the genocide and interviewed hundreds of survivors who told the UN teams what had happened to them, their families, and their people in China. It appears that the UN team, using interviews with hundreds of family members and witnesses of the killed, has garnered enough evidence to present a formal report to the UN Security Council within weeks.

UN Inspector Report:
In the very begining of the year the UN Comission on Human Rights has conducted an investigation in the question of Chinese Genoside. The investigation was conducted in Indian and Russian refugee camps, and the results were rather grave. It is obvious that the Chinese troops were responsible for condcuting genocide. It is also obvious that the government officials were involved, although there is no proof that the Federal government was involved, most evidence points to that fact. The panel urged the UN to take apropriate measures.

UNCHR Report
June ‘54
The UN commission on Human Rights reports that the Genocide of non-Han populations in China continues based on the evidence from refugee camps in India and Russia, and advises the Security Council to take appropriate measures.

Today is a sad day for all Buddhists of the world. The Dalai Lama has been killed by the Chinese troops while in a monastery in Tibet. There has still been no reaction from the rest of the world, but we are sure it will be one of deep sorrow and of an outrage towards the government of China for this action.

In a complete surprise to the rest of the world the Chinese Army has crossed into Nepal. The massive army took only a week to occupy the country. The Government of Nepal called on its allies in the Asian Alliance, and all answered the call. India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand declared war on China and the Indian army prepared to re-take Nepal. This however was exactly what the Chinese command has hoped for and two other massive Chinese armies swung into position occupying parts of Northern India and fighting for more. The casualties are unprecedented as both nations throw their massive armies at each other and both refuse to give up fighting as thousands die for the rocky passes of the Himalayan Mountains. So far it appears the advantage is on the side of the Chinese, but that can change quickly. The terrain makes it difficult for the Chinese to move tanks into India.
China: -12,000 infantry, -20 tanks, -100 Mig20s, -30 Il-5s,
India: -18000 infantry, -54 tanks, -30 bombers, -12 interceptors, -22 fighters

Today the nuclear war almost became a reality. Just 30 miles off the coast of China an American Nuclear Bomb was exploded with no warning. The Soviet military was put on high alert, and nuclear bombers were already in the air with orders to target most western european cities when the President and the Soviet Premier cleared the misunderstanding. This was called by the US president "the second warning to China"

Moscow Times
April
Under the pressure from the International Community the Chinese forces have begun to leave India and Nepal today, and they are to be replaced by UN peacekeepers. India mourns its dead and most of the population is still in shock from this invasion. In China, the campaign was called a victory, and military parades are held across the country. China begins preparations for a possible American landing on the East Coast, and the reports say that China has a huge amount of new tanks and planes ready for use to meet the Americans

Amsterdam News
Late May
The UN Comission on Human Rights has made a report today, and from the report it is clear that the genocide policy going on in China over the last 2 years has stopped or at least slowed down to a not noticebale degree. The two people China claims are responsible for the act have been turned over to the Haag Tribunal, and will be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

Korea
USSR institutes the blockade of the Korean Peninsula weeks before the US fleet arives. After a somewhat indesisive pause the US fleet moved in through a well scouted out breach in teh blockade. Just 2 hours after the move the USSR spy sattelite detected the movement and the bombardment began. The US fleet moved bravely foreward under non-stop bombardment from the Soviet Fleet and barely 1/3 of the troops managed to land in Korea. As the Soviets realized that they failed to stop the landing, they launched the most terrible attack on the beaches there has been. Non-stop bombardment lasted 2 months with constant attacks at which point the American comanding officer surrendered his command in Korea. In all the American Force suffered over 85% casualties and the navy lost 60% of the ships in a horrible attack. The southern beaches are still held by a tiny number of loyal south Korean supporters. It would appear the USSR and China have re-united the Korean Peninsula

China
The Great Leap Forward has finally been completed. The economy and production are booming, but it is questionable if the USSR will aprove of this drastic move towards capitalism.

Seattle Times
American Land invaded! The American occupied South Korea has been invaded by North Korea with the help of the Chinese government. Fighting is now taking place in the southern part of the country where the US soldiers try to hold the coastline and wait for the reinforcememnts. US has declared war on North Korea and has cut all diplomatic relations with China until further notice.

London Times
Today the British city of Hong Kong has been put under bombardment and attack by the Chinese forces. The city was taken after a few hours of resistance and The British garrison surrendered. United Kingdom has condemned the actions of the Chinese government and has demanded an explanation.

Lisbon News
The colony of Maccau has been attacked by the Chinese forces and the city has been occupied with alomst no resistance. The Portugese government has condemned the actions and is expected to bring up this attack on the next meeting of the World Confederation. For now all relations with China have been cut.

War Grows Bigger
Just as the nations of Pakistan and India were about to conclude peace with the help of WC and USA negotiators news came: China intervened. Chinese forces swept through the border and occupied the area known as Aski Chyin in northern Kashmir. Negotiations on what to do broke down, but India and Pakistan signed a cease fire at pre-war borders with exception of Kashmir, and desided to both deal with the Chinese problem seperatley.

Would just like to say that Russia would be my first choice
India my second
Barbados my 3rd

I'm perfectly happy with any of the 3, but obviously there is an order in which i would acheive greater happiness ;)

Hm, that's odd. I'm using GDP PPP, and Brazil is 9th on every scale, while Canada is 13th, 14th, 13th. Care to share your sources? :)

OH ok, I thought you meant simply straight GDP, nevermind then.

More than warfaring ability ought to be required to play as any nation. Friedrich II conducted civil reforms, Caesar was a polymath, Genghis Khan was a political mastermind.

I'd like to quote machievelli in "The main focus of a prince should be on war..."

It's sound advice. I use war as a tool for nation building, and I'm not irrisponsible with it. If I was, there'd be more than my first 2 wars ever as a loss record, in 5 years.

War isn't the end-all be-all tool for achieving goals in 2009, nor is it going to be in the foreseeable future. As I understand it, this game is supposed to be realistic.

No crap, Symphony? You must admit, though the world looks like it's not going to be one based on warfare, China's government seems to be taking a page out of machievelli's book right now. 1000 ship fleet atm? They're arming like we've never seen any country arm before. Those arms aren't used for tea parties, my friend. I understand what you're trying to get at though, but please don't try to belittle my comment as "My only focus is warfare" It's the main one, because if not, a country's taken advantage of. But it's not the only focus.

1000 ship fleet atm? They're arming like we've never seen any country arm before.
A 1000 ship Littoral Fleet is less impressive than a single Blue Water Carrier. Although China is definitively underreporting its military growth and is conducting a build-up program it is focused around modernization of the Air Force and Navy, since until the past decade the main underpinning of Chinese military theory continued to be Mao Zedong's human-wave philosophy.

War in the 21st Century is going to be a relatively sharp affair or one waged under the perpetual threat of a nuclear exchange. And my point was that neither Russia nor China really has anywhere to "nation build" by war without it going from the former to the latter, which rather diminishes the importance of that qualification, unless we all want to kill this game in about five updates or less. I'd rather not do that, personally, so when I see people going on about "I've won X, Y, and Z battles in games A, B, and C," I'm neither much impressed, nor much enthused for their outlook on the game.

. .. .. .. ., bringing myself down to everyone's petty arguing about who's dick is bigger, and which playing style is better has turned my stomach. Give me the country or tell me to go away. I'm done having other men measure my penis.
