As mentioned here - I think we'll be holding off on this till we get the whole "oops we're at war" thing straightened out (nothing but Love for you Mr. Chairman!

This "oops we are at war" thing could serve as an incident triggered by our overeager Defense System patch level 1 Beta by mistake.
It was just a minor mistake in the business logic.
But we got everything under control now with Patch level 2.03

The council invites you into its war room – for a glimpse of behind the scenes conversation.

We join the conversation as Council military strategists are trying frantically to explain themselves to an outraged Civilian leadership… ​

Chairman Paul the 42nd: "I demand answers! I wake up this morning to suddenly find out we're at war with FREE and there are robotic, fully automated machines in control of our entire airforce!?! How on Meleet's Blue Earth could this have happened?!?"

General_W: "Well, Mr. Chairman, what we've done is to take our new H-class fully automated and computerized bombers and program them with combat plan "Doomsday thorium G," - when they encounter any foreign transports – they will produce, in effect, a doomsday shield. A lethal cloud of Aerial bombardment which will encircle the Council waterways within a 6 tile range! This war with FREE was a bit of glitch in the system. A really minor bug that I assure you we've since corrected."

Chairman Paul the 42nd: "I'm afraid I don't understand something. Are you telling me that it was OUR military that started this war with FREE?!? And now you're talking about ordering the destruction of *any* foreign transports that get within range of our territory?"

General_W: "No sir. It is not a thing a sane man would order. The doomsday bombers are designed to launch themselves into action automatically if any foreign transports come in-range. They'll trigger automatically."

*stunned silence*

Niklas: "But surely we can disarm it somehow?"

General_W: "No. It is designed to go into attack mode if any attempt is ever made to un-trigger it."

Peter Grimes: "But this is absolute madness! Why would we *build* such a thing?"

Air Captain Donsig: "There were those of us who fought against it, but in the end we could not keep up with the expense involved in the island race, the space race, and the culture race. At the same time our people grumbled for more temples and Coliseums. Our doomsday scheme cost us just a small fraction of what we had been spending on defense in a single year. "

Chairman Paul the 42nd: "This is preposterous. I've never approved of anything like this."

General_W: "Not according to The Domestic RoundTable… they've already reported that this plan will be going into effect unless the Civilian Leadership directly contacted the military to stop it. The paper made it quite clear that if no response was received within one week – that this silence would be assumed as an approval of the project."

Chairman Paul the 42nd: "You know I don't read that rag of a newspaper! When was this published?"

Admiral Aigburth: "Two weeks ago. The system is now fully operational. We assumed that your silence was not only an approval – but was appreciated for the sake of 'plausible deniability'… you know."

Automated Teller: "Then you mean, we've already built such a thing?! We have the technology for that?"

General_W: "The technology required is easily within the means of our brilliant scientists. It required only the will to implement it."

Chairman Paul the 42nd: "But… how is it possible for this thing to be triggered automatically and at the same time impossible to untrigger?"

General_W: "Mr. Chairman, it is not only possible, it is essential. That is the whole idea of this plan, you know. Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the FEAR to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision-making process which rules out human meddling, the Doomsday Defense Network is terrifying and simple to understand... and completely credible and convincing."

Attention Foreign Powers:
You've been warned! The Doomsday Defense Network is now in place to guard all Council waterways.​

Terrific job to include the recent DoW. Remembers me of Durham Bulls when Kevin Kostner asked Nuke to hit the maskot just to scare the batter

Maybe it would overdo it but I'd love to have the "Domestic Round Table" being available only in the cellar of a public building with broken stairs and light as a reference to The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy

I'm glad I'm not yet spending too much time on the forums...

However there are people with a different opinion on this
To my relief, my boss is not one of them...

And I still know where my wallet is, it's right here... wait... It should... it must be... oops...

BTT:
We'll have three 40spt-towns on fighter duty for our EWS and city defense. They first need airports to build vet fighters.

We'll have The Admirality (70-80spt) and four-five minor coastal towns (The Bayou, The Ways, The Pier, The Marina, all ~10spt) on navy duty.
I guess I'll better switch those cd-builds to submarines for our EWS, right?

We'll have The Chamber, The Treasury (each 100spt) and some other metros (The Gulag, The Meeting Room, The Red Tape all ~20-50 spt) on land unit duty. They need some factories first, we might want to rush them through horse disbands, maybe even MechInf drafts?

Some of them have to finish some infrastructure buildings. Especially The Beach, The Phoenix and The Squeeze should finish those unis because those are essentially +100%-unis with (Internet-)labs for free!
