Yay. Here we go. How's this?

The Emergents of Providence ("Emergents")
Leader: President Jonathan Domini / Erik Mesoy
Home system: Benalia - 3 warpgates
Attributes: Blessed ( Reliably good random events )
Production: 40 (0 banked)
Trade: None
Travel speed: 1 gate/turn
Colonized systems:
- Benalia 40/[MPC] ([R-levels]) <leave MPC and R-levels blank, I will fill it in somewhat at random>
Army and Fleet deployment:
- Benalia: 1000 infantry, 4 Scouts, 120 Fighters
Note: As you have no Carriers, neither your infantry nor your Fighters can travel to other systems.
Researched technologies: None
Description: The Emergents seem to have survived the Breaking by unadulterated luck, which holds even unto this day. Their new leaders are constantly finding ore deposits, salvaging old ships, getting sudden inflices of volunteers, or being out of town when a natural disaster strikes their headquarters. Probing the luck is unpopular due to a superstition that it might cease if someone discovers that it has no basis in reality.

Yay. Here we go. How's this?
Sweet, first faction in! Erik, playing it a bit safe eh?

@Cleric: I can live with a rip-off if it's not too cheesy. What the other players will think is a whole different matter... ;)

hmm, Defently in. though debating what style to play. eather Nekomi, Of Zentradi. not sure.

Like I said befor. Darwin hit upon a golden formula. any NES along the style, I am in even befor it starts.

Welcome aboard TerrisH! Either of those factions sounds fine, as long as you keep it human (no space giants ;)).

I edited the last of my start posts to include factions and signups. Right now there are 6 people who have signed up, which means there's critical mass to actually run the NES, woot! Still hoping for more signups though, 11 more people have voted for preferences, and 4 of the players from Erik's NES have not signed up. Why not join in? :)

I'm still thinking!

... and working on your post count obviously. ;) And you're not alone in thinking either, still only one faction submitted.

Meh if I could I would remove the postcount in this forum.

I would like to join.

I could help out with factions and there names, my Uncle is an Astrology professor and he could give me weird names of planets and systems lol.

@germanicus12: Welcome aboard! And thanks for the offer. Then you won't have any problems coming up with a faction of your own! :)

Btw, Astrology professor?? I didn't know that astrology was an accepted research discipline. :crazyeye: (as in, don't you mean astronomy?)

Astrology, Astronomy I dont know and I dont care, all I know he teaches about the stars and the universe to students.

And as for faction names, do you want me to list a few and and see if other people want them? I will do my Faction in a little while.

Nah, let people think a bit themselves, it'll do them good. ;)

And gee, don't tell your uncle you said that. ;) In case you do care despite what you say, Astronomy is the physical science of space and stars and such, Astrology is the symbolic "science" of celestial bodies and their effect on our lives (as in horoscopes).

Brotherhood of Nod (Nod)
Leaders: Seth and Kane / Cleric
Home system: Godan - 3 warpgates
Attributes: Fanatics (Zealous and loyal population) Brilliant Research (Cheaper Research) Tiberium Fields (Redvelopment harder, cost of PP yields are now 1:4, 1:7 and 1:9)
Production: 40 (0 banked)
Trade: None
Travel speed: 1 gate/turn

Army and Fleet deployment:
- Godan: 1000 infantry, 3 Scouts, 140 Fighters
Note: As you have no Carriers, neither your infantry nor your Fighters can travel to other systems.
Researched technologies: None
Description: The Brotherhood of Nod is an ancient quasi religious society that originated on Earth, but left because of prosecution on charges that it was a dangerous terrorist organization. They found an arid, backwater desert planet and settled there. Everything was well for a time, until the Scourge came along through an unexplained way. The Brotherhood was thrown into chaos, it divided and fought itself. Then two mysterious men appeared, one claiming he came from another dimension, the other while not claiming anything was strategic mastermind and had great charisma. They joined forces and united the Brotherhood. Now after the end of the plague, Nod is ready to expand on a galactic level.

Thanks that might come in handy when my uncle asks me what the difference is

The Furians
Leader: President Ryan Zabriskie / germanicus12
Home system: Fury - 4 warpgates
Attributes: Warriors (will fight to the last man) Great aerial powers (ships and fleets increase power and hitpoints) Expensive units (High production costs for military units)
Production: 40 (0 banked)
Trade: None
Travel speed: 1 gate/turn
Colonized systems:
- Fury 40/[MPC] ([R-levels]) <leave MPC and R-levels blank, I will fill it in somewhat at random>
Army and Fleet deployment:
- Fury: 1000 infantry, 4 Scouts, 120 Fighters
Note: As you have no Carriers, neither your infantry nor your Fighters can travel to other systems.
Researched technologies: None
Description: The Furians were all but wiped out and forgotten by history during the great war between Necromongers and Furians. But in reality they escaped and hid out underground, rebuilding their armed forces and prepare for the right to dominate the galaxy as they planned to do before the great war, they were again prevented as the Scourge came through.
(I will write a story explaining the war as I feel like doing it)

(If I did anything wrong let me know and I can fix it. Also I realized that the Furians were taken from the movie Chronicles of Riddick. But I couldn't hear a good name from my uncle. I hope it was ok)

Brotherhood of Nod (Nod)
*IGGYPUNCH* !

Attributes: [...] Weak Ground Troops (Ground troops are weaker and prefer stealth and speed, outmaneuvering the enemies, attrition warfare, guerilla tactics and subterfuge.)
What a disadvantage.

[Seth Dethos]
Riiiight. Since you seem to respond only to direct conditioning, expect war. You can probably get an extra helping from Symph.

The Furians
Welcome to the forum, germanicus - and welcome aboard the NES. :)

*IGGYPUNCH* !
Well, what did you expect? And Cleric, I warned you of the other players' reactions. :p

I can only agree with Erik here. A disadvantage is supposed to be a disadvantage. If you want your ground troops to be weaker, fine, but you won't be compensated by making them skilled in some other way. :p

The Furians
...
Description: The Furians were all but wiped out and forgotten by history during the scourge. But in reality they escaped and hid out in a whole new system, rebuilding their armed forces and prepare for the right to dominate the galaxy as they planned to do before the great scourge.

(If I did anything wrong let me know and I can fix it. Also I realized that the Furians were taken from the movie Chronicles of Riddick. But I couldn't hear a good name from my uncle. I hope it was ok)
Everything looks fine, except for the "whole new system" part. If they would have gone to a new system, it wouldn't have been connected by warpgates, and thus would be out of the scope for this game. Better say they hid in underground bunkers or some such. And they certainly weren't unscathed by the scourge, since practically their whole fleet was wiped out. ;)

But that's just a minor, looks great overall and glad to have you in. :)

You know you what? Give me a disadvantage, I dont know what to put.

Eh? I am getting tired of trying to decipher your posts.

Alright I changed it a bit and added a war to provide a reason for why most of my fleet was wiped out.

The history of the Furians

Back when Space Exploration was still in its ealy stages, the United Pacific States sent a military division up to protect their holdings, this division was known as Fury, the Furian division was an elite division for the UPS. The United Pacific States sent the Furians up to prevent uprisings from miners, farmers and the like. Also to protect the civilian sites as well.

A few years have passed and the men of Fury Division became so feared around the system that the UPS council has decided to rename the system home planet, Fury, in honor of the Furians. Eventually the rest of the systems became aware of the Furians and learned to stay away from that system. The Fury System lived and worked in relative peace for a few more years.

Another few more years passed then a epidemic broke out in some distance system, but nonetheless upon hearing the reports of countless dead and ships just not working or breaking apart they decided to store up food and water for a year in an underground bunker and limited traffice to the system to only UPS ships. When they heard of the epidemic coming closer they decided to head underground and wait out a year for the epidemic to die out.

The year has passed and now the Furians are out and saw the destruction and lonely landscape that had once been a bustling city of 500,000.

This is their story.......
