Anyway, I invite another person to play the game that is delayed in the game, only in the menu has 30 seconds of delay time, clicked something and the game is too slow for recognize. i think is probably the drivers, what is your opinion?

Which type of Windows you use,how many giga has your graphics card, how many RAM you have? Civ V is a game very 'expensive' in PC resources..

Hello, may I ask a quick question regarding "Great General" names?

Installed a few mod factions from Steam Workshop and basically for example, I loaded up a standard game which I played as Alfred of Wessex (JFD) When a general is spawned the name of the general was the enemy factions leader? Is this some sort of bug?

Thankyou for your time and hope to speak soon.

Hi,

Just got Civ5 (complete edition). I don't know anything about the game but I guess there must be an equivalent to Civ4 BUG mod? What is the most standard/commonly played version/extension of the game?

Thanks :)

Just Complete, expansions/DLCs are way more modular here than in Civ4 but I don't see why you would actively remove content from the game. There's a menu for activating/deactivating them on an individual basis somewhere in the main menu though, if you were to want that.

Enhanced User Interface is pretty much the Civ5 equivalent of BUG, I couldn't imagine ever playing without it. It's installed as a fake DLC so you can still get achievements when running it which is usually not the case for mods, if that matters to you.

Additionally, Info Addict adds statistics and graphs, aka everything in Civ4's F2 and F9 screens that was there in Vanilla already but has been cut from Civ5 for no good reason.

Have fun! :)

So if I read your post correctly, Vanilla, Gods&Kings and Brave New World all stack together?

Yep. It's just like in Civ4 when you are playing Beyond the Sword you technically also get the features of Warlords and Vanilla (except for scenarios). The only difference here is that you could theoretically play Brave New World + Vanilla without activating Gods & Kings if you wanted as it's more modular. Like in Civ4 I believe the only actual benefit from deactivating an expansion or both is access to older scenarios.

Hey guys, I started playing Civ 5 recently and after few matches and guides read I still have some questions unanswered:
1. How do I get prophets? I generate a lot of great people, but prophets doesn't seem to show up, even tho I have several faith buildings. Also I can't buy them in the faith screen, only generals.
2. What is the best way to spread religion? I see there is trade route option, but at the same time I would get unwanted religion back to my city.
3. How do I achieve city cultural influence? I get pop ups that AI is nearing cultural victory, even tho I believe my civ has more wonders/cultural buildings or is it more complex than that?
4. How can I influence world congress votes with my spies? I have them in some enemy capitals, but I can't seem to find a way to get additional votes from my spies.
5. Should I only protect my capital from tech stealing or techs can be stolen from other cities as well?
6. Do you always use great artist to create great work?
7. In civ4 cottages was the way to go, has it changed? Are farms better than cottages or should I build both equally?
8. Is there any difference between long trade routes vs short ones? (I mean the travel distance of the convoy) And does roads/railroads have any impact on that?
Thanks!

  1. You can only get GPr by founding (i.e., having good Faith early in the game).
  2. Misionaries early, GPr later. Trade Route spread is relatively weak.
  3. Sorry, I cannot give pithy advice for Culture Victory and Tourism. It is not a quick question and answer!
  4. You get additional votes from Diplomats, not spies, and only late game. Spies and Diplomats in AI caps let you trade for their votes.
  5. Other cities can have tech stolen, but your cap is targeted most often.
  6. No. After theming Hermitage and World Wonders, burn GA for Golden Ages.
  7. Trading Posts are quite weak. Farms are always good. TP on Jungle and Tundra, and that is pretty much it.
  8. Longer trading routes give more money, but are more vulnerable to barbarians. Yes, roads and rails extend Trade Route range.

1. For Prophets, they will be randomly generated after you hit the minimum faith threshold, with the chance increasing as you accumulate more faith. However, once the maximum number of religions are formed, you cannot get a prophet any longer. The maximum number of religions on a given map equals (1/2 * standard number of civs for that map) + 1. For more, see https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/religion-how-does-the-religion-system-work-bnw.521452/.

2. For spread mechanics, see https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/religion-spreading-and-defending-your-religion-bnw.521447/

4. For diplo influence and world congress mechanics, see https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...tive-negative-diplomacy-modifiers-bnw.524435/

5. Just place a spy in your capital -- techs will still be stolen, but the spy will level up and it will come to a halt. That said, it rarely harms you to lose techs to the AI (they usually steal outdated techs, like sailing).

6. Not always. Sometimes a well-timed Golden Age is far more valuable (e.g., both during Worlds Fair and after winning Worlds Fair). You should not feel compelled to use any Great Person immediately after generating them -- hoarding them for optimal use is an efficient way to play.

7. There are no cottages in Civ 5. If you are seeing them, perhaps you are playing with some mod?

8. Roads extend trade route range, but don't affect trade route yields.

Thanks for the answers guys. Now how do I make quick combat for AI players and regular combat with animations for my units?
