It has been described numerous times in the verified bugs section and I revived a number of threads (including this one) to ask for help. I will give you the links but I guess I can try to explain it anyway. (thus in one of the threads I revived some people refused to understand it, hopefully I will be clear) :
It's when a worker or a set of workers HAVE BEEN menaced once and prompted the player to not be captured, but then, once the menace is gone, they keep not achieving their job by asking the player EVERY TURN what to do, as if there were still enemy units nearby but there's none. The most annoying experience of that was that I declared war in an easy game (chieftain) and the AI I declared war on had a scout nearby for some turns. After the scouts were gone or killed, my workers kept asking me for prompt every single turn, in the core of my capital ! Very annoying. I uninstalled vanilla Civ5 because of this. I would be curious if anyone can make a MOD to correct this... it has been corrected in the expansions by Firaxis but not in vanilla.

Workers are having to be prompted to restart working even after the offending barb camp has been destroyed, it happens time and time again and will last for the continuation of what ever is being built, upon moving to the hex next door the same is happening.
It seems to me that the workers are not recognizing that the barb camp/camps has been destroyed and will continue to need prompting for the duration of the game. When playing wide empire games this becomes extremely time consuming.

I personally would be interested in a mod similar to how a Civ2 mod copied the game of Master of Magic. Done well, a Master of Magic mod based on Civ5 would likely see me spending many hours playing the mod.

I re-installed Civ5 vanilla from Steam lately and played it a little... I completed a settler difficulty game building all wonders and already got into this problem a bit... but now with a chieftain difficulty game where I declared war early on another civilization, this comes to be the most annoying thing on earth : just because my opponent had a scout nearby my capital, my workers kept prompting me while doing their job, EVERY SINGLE TURN. That is annoying beyond belief especially when it's in the core of my territory.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this ? Is there any...
When a military enemy unit comes close from one of my workers, this last won't achieve its task without prompting me every turn, that long after the menace is out (50 turns ?). This is true especially in conquered lands, and is so unpleasant to me that I uninstalled the game. Can this be fixed with a mod ? Thank you very much.

This is game breaking, it sucks the joy our of the game everything someone declares war. I'm forced to play without barbarians as well. Issue is MONTHS old.
Telling me to buy the expansion is a no go. "Forcing" me to buy a fix for a product if I want to keep using this product within 2 years of purchase is illegal in Europe. I'm not someone to threaten but...
