When I joined this board more than four years ago I was a neoconservative.

I played Euphonium for ten years, and its the thing I singularly miss the most in life. I tried to get into Towson's music program, but they were a bunch of jerks so I didn't want to deal with them and didn't push it.

I also played Trombone, Tuba, French Horn, and Trumpet, with varying degrees of capability, but all good enough to rival the First Chair in my high school, except for Trumpet.

I don't like anything added to my coffee. Everyone I know except for my dad either thinks this is disgusting or hardcore awesome.

I technically know four languages (English, German, Arabic, and Russian), but I can't think fast enough in them to even carry on a basic conversation, except for English, obviously. Yet I can translate them rather well, but only when in written form.

I've never had straight A's in my entire life. I came close once or twice, but there was always a high B to mess me up.

I hate cell phones and television.

I'm five foot seven, but have feet bigger than the tallest guy I know (they're size 13).

How dark are we talking here? I discovered that like 70% cacao stuff last year and fell in love with it. Trader Joes has this extra dark chocolate that's like 30% hazelnuts, its to die for.

Now with the facts....

1) When I was younger (5 years old), I wanted to be a Paleontologist when I grew up.

2)And then when I got bored with dinosaurs (around 6 years old), I wanted to be a Volcanologist.

3) I had almost no interest in politics until I started to watch the Daily Show/Colbert Report.

4) I'm a weather nerd

5) I've only been to four states in my entire life: Illinois, Washington D.C., Indiana, and Wisconsin.

6) Only two of those states have I actually visited for more than a day (not including where I live): Wisconsin and Washington D.C.

7) I've only been on a plane twice in my entire life

8) I suspect that I might have a fear of heights, but in a strange way. I totally freaked out when I'm on a tower that happens to be open air (i.e. no roof), but yet I feel totally comfortable at the sky-deck of the Sears Tower, Airplanes are somewhat iffy for me.

9) I've only been on a roller coaster once in my life, and I'm too freaked out to go on one again

10) I can draw a map of the world from memory

11) Same goes for the U.S. and all that state's borders

12) Same goes for Europe and Northern Africa (though I'm a bit fuzzy on some of the countries borders (I'm looking at you Balkans Peninsula!))

-Though I don't tend to post in Sports Talk, I have long been a fan of the New Orleans Saints (my mom is from Slidell and I spend most summers down there). If you talk to me on a Sunday you will probably be saturated with Whodats. I am currently regarding the performance this season with Guarded Optimism, because I remember that depressing game at Soldier Field in '07.
-I frequently wear Hawaiian shirts. I also frequently wear a US Army PT jacket. This has resulted in some moderately amusing exchanges between me and persons of authority in campus ROTC.
-I used to be a part of a pretty damn good high school quiz bowl team, but I stopped playing when I went to college.
-I still haven't made up my mind about politics and I kinda hope I never do. I used to think I was a statist but I'm not even sure about that.
