Rant: I don't like that sick and pain makes the word-part of my brain not work right. :crazyeye:

I tackled three DIY projects and failed at all of them.

Failure 1:
We got a big framed picture of our wedding as a wedding gift. We don't like the picture but the frame is large and beautiful and we kept it in a closet with the intent of re-using the frame for art or another picture one day. We no longer have a closet to stow it in and I got the bright idea of putting felt inside the frame and using double-sided tape to put all my mission patches in it as a display. We spent 30 minutes looking for the patches (I placed them in a new location after the move and forgot about them) only to find I have too many to fit in the frame. I still want to keep the frame but now I have to move a dresser so I can stash the frame behind it.

Failure 2:
I have a sheet music stand I used to display a space book. The book is quite large with a bunch of nice full-color illustrations so I'd flip it open to a different page occasionally as a display piece in our office room. We no longer have an office and I tried to re-purpose the stand by putting an old TV on it to use as a second monitor for my work computer. I took the TV's own stand apart to mount it on the sheet music stand but there wasn't enough clearance for the chords and I ended up breaking an HDMI cable and tossing the sheet music stand altogether.

Failure 3:
I have a grocery list thing that I made from a clipboard-sized piece of cardboard with magnetic tape on the back of it. I use an alligator paperclip to affix printed grocery lists to it and hang them from the fridge door. The cardboard is old and begging to fall apart so I took a second, new piece of cardboard and put magnetic tape on it. This involved hot glue as the magnetic tape has crappy adhesive and it was a bit of work to put it all together because of the crappy glue gun I have. Unfortunately, the magnetic tape is super low quality so it can't support it's own weight and removing the tape to replace it ruined the cardboard and I had to chuck it all. The hot glue didn't de-magnetize the tape either; I stuck a bare piece of it on the door and it won't support its own weight.

So long as you had the pancreatitis before going to the hospital, at least you're going about things in the right order.

Is there any improvement?

The latter two are failures, I'll grant you, but you haven't failed the first yet.

Rant: I can't seem to stop shivering even though I have on heavy pyjamas and blankets.

I stopped shivering. Now I'm soaked in sweat.

I love my faulty nervous system!

Ughhhh ... drinking and posting are not a good combination. Loneliness, boredom, and impatience together sadly lead to this.

I would advise everyone not to drink and post.

I had a few home projects due to the 60 an hour winds the other day. It was so bad it ripped the door off our mailbox and tore apart a flower trellis. I was able to fix the trellis but had to get a new mailbox.

I very vividly remember posting profusely on the night I first got drunk. Takhisis engaged me about it but it was only when I regained sobriety that I swore to never again allow drunkenness to deprive me of proper spelling and grammar. To this day, all my subsequent drunkposting has been impeccably written with supreme effort on my part.

That's true. I've been eyeing an old 2001 movie poster for potentially re purposing into a display. The poster itself is old and faded and I would rather not add to the amount of space art in my house but rather substitute one thing for another. I got rid of a bunch of space art with this move and don't have the space to start adding to the collection.

Another triumph for the forces of grammar. The Greek Ortograph Church summons the blessings of Glob on you, young one.
