I know that feel. Though mine isn't that bad. It's more like I have work to do today, and instead of doing it from 1pm to 2pm and getting the rest of the day to do stuff, I do it from 1pm to 10pm and give myself only an hour to unwind and enjoy myself.
It's freaking exhausting.

like, even the students who are better than me I think have to work at least 6 hours.
Since I am so horribly far behind I never get done for the day no matter how much I can try, and that just lowers my will to do anything, so I fall further behind.

Well my daily stuff isn't too strenuous, mostly just read this, or type this. I just keep pushing it off, alt-tabbing, and falling asleep while doing it. Makes things that much harder.
However, I really shouldn't be complaining even though it is a problem. You have it much worse than me. You have a right to be ranty and complain. Not me. My issue, according to Daw, is that I have it so easy I cannot muster the enthusiasm to do the easy work I have.
I've rarely if ever had 6 hours of homework to do throughout all of college. Even when I was writing my thesis for a whole semester, I got the 40 pages done doing like 4 hours or less over the course of several days (spread out by weeks). Only time I've gotten 6 or more hours of work is when like, finals pile up and stuff. What's your major? Is it something super-stressful like engineering or architecture or something?

I would have thought you'd have to put in a lot of work into social science and humanist courses, since they actually require crtical thinking. Although maybe that makes people better at it so they don't have to work a lot.
Although you study japanese right? I have a friend who studies arabic, and I think he puts in about 8 hours every day
I'm like so bloody jealaous of you at this point.
I study physics. I don't know if you think that's stressful. I think it's something that should be super easy, since it doesn't require critical thinking. Although I suppose there's a lot to take in.
Anyway, Rant: I have now procrastrinated, litteraly done nothing, for 9 hours,
