I'd have to look it up again, but it was a weird Scholastic Point mystery from the early '90s. Pretty generic but I remember there being one weird scene.

But I'm seriously willing to send cookies or give tips - I'm practiced with oatmeal, chocolate chunk (and double chocolate chunk), peanut butter, gingerbread, and maple cream. I've sent treats to a few friends I met at TrekBBS who live in the United States.

Do you mean milk you bought, or are you lactating? If the latter I'm sorry but I can't help you and I suggest you see your doctor, straight away!

Do you still have those bags you cut open for milk? Does all your milk smell bad, or just your most recent purchase? Do you have anything foul in your fridge and your milk might be absorbing some odor?

God, that made me laugh. Okay. I'm fine. Alright. No. It's a gallon jug of milk. BC doesn't do bagged milk. The milk's fine, even tastes fine, just smells like perfume. Everything else in the fridge is sealed.

I'm so sorry, I missed your second part ... cookies aren't at all expensive to make, really just a few dollars, but you'll get many batches out of your ingredients. I don't know if you can ship to the United States if you live in Canada, I think you can't send open food across border. But I could always bake something for you and send to your friend, saying they're from you.

Well, yes, that was the intent. I'm horrifyingly bad at baking, somehow. Decent at cooking, hopeless at baking.

I'd just want to fairly compensate you for your time and skills.

Why is non-bagged milk a bad thing? I hated having to deal with those things, and I'm relieved that we don't have it here in Alberta anymore.

I don't think I've seen bagged milk in a few years in Nova Scotia, though I might not have been looking closely enough. It either comes in cardboard cartons or big plastic jugs.

Sadly you don't send internationally. You could send my a few kgs every week so I could quit my job.

A minute ago I had to get up for a minute and I banged my foot on the corner of my desk, now my toes are throbbing and I'm having trouble moving them.

Here's a rant: Nova Scotia rolled out some changes to income assistance last year. They stopped the clawbacks to child support and allowed recipients to earn more money before they started clawing back on that too. That's good stuff...for people who get child support and/or are able to work.

Those who are unable to work (the disabled/chronically ill, who probably need it most) get a $21 increase. Wow. What a big difference that'll make, especially with our 15% sales tax.

I'm grumpy that my boss didn't even suggest to us the possibility of working remote tomorrow when it is supposed to get down to -60F. We already work remote on a regular schedule and only need one, maybe two, people in my department to physically be in the office. Everyone better show up tomorrow because I'll get really grumpy if people don't show up because they took remote.

They all know I take the bus to work, and I checked, Metro Transit says they expect no delays or service interruptions*. So unfortunately that won't work.
(Also, like a moron, I forgot to bring my work laptop home with me should I chicken out and decide to stay in.)

*Indeed, I think they are going to keep some routes running all night to serve as warming locations/shelters for homeless and people with poor housing.
