If I go to forbes, for example, I get asked about cookie preferences according to GDPR. If I accept cookies I get the page almost immediately. If I click "More information" and select "required cookies" then it takes like 2 minutes of progress % to get to the page. If I select "advertising cookies" I get there straight away. I am sure that is against the spirit if not the letter of GDPR. This is tested and repeatable using incognito mode.

I'm getting some really mixed signals from someone and it's doing my head in.

Is it their message or your reception that is the problem?

Rant: I spilled food on myself when eating. So I changed. And then spilled a drink immediately afterwards.

If you wear an apron when cooking, keep it on for eating.

Well, it's what I do, since I prefer to eat on the sofa (it's better for my poor vertebræ) and anyway I'm the one who's going to have to put it back on for washing up afterwards.

both? primarily the message though, I think.

So they invite me over but intriguingly specify that it is and must be a time when their parents are out. When I arrive, they say they have 'no plans' for the evening and nothing happens, notably despite a couch existing they spent most of the time on the adjacent-but-too-far-away recliner. After I leave, I receive a 'good night, keep sexy' text with accompanying eggplant emoji.

Yes those signals seem pretty clear, but obviously they were playing with you, using the situation to get to know you better. Or, waiting for you to "take charge" of the situation. Perhaps they will invite you over again. Of course you should go. If she is nice, enjoy the game.

I'm not sure it's a she since it's cardgame and he's using an ungendered ‘they’, but let's let that one slide since it's not very relevant.

Oh. After a lifetime of cooking and doing the dishes and laundry and what-not I have come to consider it an essential household item.

I thought cardgame was a she. If in any case this mystery person is a she, then cardgame should realize that this woman is absolutely incomprehensible (as most of us are) and just simply take charge.

Hop on that couch and cuddle!

IIRC cardgame is male and somewhere on the LGBT spectrum. We had a lot of social groups on CFC when we were on vBulletin. Not to point any fingers at anybody but the forum staff but those were really useful and interesting.

I'll take women being incomprehensible as the sensible advice of a registered mental health specialist. Forever.

Small rant: My computer mouse crapped itself. It keeps cutting out and disconnecting. My spare mouse works fine, but it makes my hand hurt.

Eitherways, normally there's someone in the 2 persons who's more reluctant. In that case the other person needs to take charge.
Is in that situation also a bit...yeah, not so clear. If they'd been both on the couch, would have made it easier, but then you also could have invited the other person over onto the couch.
Next time: Just go for it. If it's wrong...eh, well, if it's a good friend, then should still be somewhat okay, and if not, then it doesn't matter.

It's past lunch, and I still keep thinking it's Friday. Long week. Not a bad week, just draaaagging. I guess if I keep thinking it's Friday long enough, I'll be right eventually.

I intend to lobby to have 5-day workweeks declared a crime against humanity by the ICJ

I intend to lobby my wife to not wait and retire sooner. 0 - day workweeks FTW.

As a retired person I lose track of the day of the week regularly.
