I heard fiftychat gives you eczema. Is this true?

We've more-or-less proven that it is 100% harmless to Norwegians and other people from Sweden.

Just withdrew from the university I was going to. One of the courses I was taking required students to purchase an access code to a site they use called Labsim. The access code cost $111.25. No, that is not a typo, they really want us to pay $111.25 for a damn access code to some site they say is essential to the course. And that is on top of the $90 for the damn textbook for the course. This was just the final straw in a long list of problems that have steadily decreased my satisfaction with the education I was receiving. You would think with the $1,500 tuition for just that course that the university could spend the money to ensure the students have access to everything they need to complete their courses without any additional financial burden.

I'm not wasting anymore of my GI Bill dollars (and thus, the US taxpayers' dollars) on that school.

Can't you take another course that doesn't cost all that instead?

Not for another 2 months. I'm fed up with this school though, so even if there were a course immediately available I would still have withdrawn. Like I said, this was just the final straw. I think I'm just going to take some time off and try to find a better school to attend.

Do you have to retake the subjects you've already done at your just-ditched school?

I shouldn't have to. If I do it won't be many. They are nationally accredited and from what I've read from student reviews of the school, most schools will accept transferred credits from them.

 Then there's not too much harm done. :D

Yeah, it's just the whole situation makes me mad, especially when I think about students who are in a position where they can't just drop that school like I did. These universities just operate in such shady ways and try to make the student pay for everything, despite the fact these universities are making money hand over fist.

Kinda makes me think they don't really care about education, only money. If they cared about education, they would do everything in their power to minimize the financial burden on the student. I mean, it's kind of hard for a student to focus on his/her courses if they are wondering whether or not they are going to be able to afford to stay in school.

My school charges money like that, too. At least the $180 I had to pay for the code and book is good for three semesters rather than just one, but compared to German universities, where I didn't have to buy books at all and where there's free tuition, it's a racket. If I do my Master's, it'll be in Germany.

No, they're just optional, or can be obtained at a library. At least, they were for my classes.
