most hand warmers have iron react with air to produce a slow exothermic reaction
Hmm. Interesting things that 'Muricans come up with instead of actually moving in order to generate body heat themselves.
I thought they were made of fresh kitten blood.
Dirty-minded kitten hater.

Said by someone living in a warm(-ish) country in the southern hemisphere, is my best guess.

Ever had to work outside in the winter? Like an actual winter? On something mechanical where you had to take your gloves off for periods of time to get the work done, then put them back on to keep your hands from freezing(like actually really freezing), then take them back off again to continue working? And that's just your hands, much less your feet?

Yes, winter can be awful, and for someone working outdoors I can understand using it, but students in a classroom?

In cold, but not super freezing weather, still probably cheaper than heating the entire building. I suppose in that regard you're right, this is American education where P.E., music, art, shop, home ec, and the like are all out of favor. If a student doesn't sit still well enough, there is always Adderol(spelling?) Which is good, because that emphasis and math and science is really paying off on how competent our students are in those areas.

That's why you keep importing talent from abroad!
Best player in our indoor soccer team dislocated his shoulder playing netball. This is not good news.
No replacement?

Hand-warmers? The google search for that came up with a variety of what pretty much seems to be gloves made of wool (a rather common item). They are very nice.

But the quote about iron got me to google some more, and:

Sometimes giant hand-warmers live in toxic-jungles:

Got turned down from a potential (and better) job, at least this time I've gotten a response back. Abet an automated response. At least it's something than leaving me in the dark.

Apparently whoever graded my physics homework decided that writing my work in a slightly confusing way (I admit, even I got a bit confused by it when I looked at it) makes it incomprehensible enough to give me a 0 on the entire problem. It was also a 25 point assignment, with only a few questions graded (because ain't nobody got time fo grading all 5-8 problems when there are hundreds of students), and the only other question graded happened to be the one I got really confused on and screwed up badly, so I got 6/25 on an assignment I did mostly right except for one problem that confused me and one that confused my grader.

Grrr.

Well, if what you wrote was a problem… *rimshot*

Rant: Sleep deprivation. Awwww.

Normally I use Tuesdays to sleep in, but spring semester pre-registration for freshman opens at 7am tomorrow, so I need to be ready to go.

Also, one of the classes that I want to take has 17/20 slots filled....hopefully I'll be able to get it, as its a sophomore level class that I want out of the way. Unlikely though, which would have major suckage potential, as it would likely break my schedule.

I needed to fuel up my car tonight, and the first two places I tried both had broken diesel pumps. I had to go to the most expensive place in Midtown Memphis. I can only assume that the owners of the Exxon station on McLean and Poplar were engaging in a sabotage and price-fixing operation, and that's not okay.

email the prof NAO. Get on the waitlist. Explain why it's important for you to take the class. For the first couple days of class, visit the prof after class to inquire about your enrollment status.

I'm now 2+ hours into my late night attempt to finish my homework before it's due tomorrow. And I have yet to accomplish anything, not because of laziness or distraction. I simply cannot figure out how to do the <long string of expletives> problem. Two hours :(
And I have 6 problems left, all of similar difficulty, I have never wanted to storm out and simply never come back to school more in life.

I assume you still go to school?
