I think you mean ichthyous, Takhisis. :)

And no, I didn't sing along because I was in public. Now, if I ever watched my handy DVD version...

Thread needs more Mel.

Here's Me instead. Takh, this will clearly annoy people.

Sent via mobile; apologies for not letting you use my abs to wash your delicates. You do not look enough like Isla Fisher

The title song to Mama Mia! drives me nuts. I cringed every time the commercial played. It was worse than Head On, apply directly to the forehead!

My computer just died, making today a sad day. A spider also decided to lay a cocoon on my work shirt and hatch a bunch of baby spiders in it. I didn't realize this until I put on the shirt and noticed the cocoon and then all the moving parts inside.

Goddamit

Okay, I've had enough. IT'S Mamma Mia, WITH 2 EFFING Ms!!! [pissed]

Great... Now I got two ABBA songs stuck in my head!

Sent via mobile, standing on the Verazzano Bridge... nah, I won't jump.

I'll see your ABBA and raise you one Ace of Base. One Swede quartet begets another.

Singing along in public is really the only time to sing along, for two reasons:

1) you get to sing along;
2) you (if you're me) get to annoy a large number of people all at once.

Number 2 is perplexing. I enjoy singing immensely and it always sounds good to me. APPARENTLY, though, I'm the ONLY person who thinks so. And almost at once I'm surrounded by a crowd of people with their hands clapped over their ears. It's very strange.

I've only had two cups of tea today.

Here we go again… :cringe:

Dude that sucks. Hmm did you take some time off work - long enough for a spider to lay eggs in it and then for them to hatch? How odd.

Ace of Base is pretty great btw.

Yeah. I don't mind Ace of Bass at all. But they are generally considered low grade stuff. Europop, if you like.

RANTS: Royal Mail to be nationalized in October. Government declares that plain wrapping on cigarette packets must wait till the Australians have run the experiment - meanwhile 200,000 young people take the habit up every year, and 100,000 people die prematurely from smoking related illnesses each year. Government refuses minimum pricing on alcohol in England and Wales. Government declares qat illegal, despite advice from various expert bodies on the subject of its health effects.

Your mail service is private in the UK? I also thought the UK already had nasty labels on their smokes?

It's not privatized quite yet. But it looks very likely to be.

And labelling has been on tobacco products for a long time. 25 years maybe?

But the current issue is whether to continue to allow tobacco companies to differentiate their brands by packaging. All the evidence is that consumers, or rather potential consumers, are encouraged to smoke by branding techniques. The government of course is said to have been heavily lobbied (i.e. bribed) by the tobacco companies to resist the move.

Qat is the narcotic favoured by Somalians and some others. It's a leaf you chew, and is considered fairly harmless apart from a slightly increased risk of liver disease.

OK, I'm confused but I just think it's a dialect issue.

In the US - nationalized means taken over by the government and privatized means it's run by private enterprise even if it does government services. You said it was to be nationalized but then said it's not privatized. I'm confused...

Oh so there are no brands on your cigarettes, just words and nasty pictures and the government wants to allow the companies to brand them again?

Takh, Did you say "replay?"
Clearly I need to poast moar songs by countries that defeated the Soviet Union, and hate Sweden. FInland, here we come.
Well, you know what they say: The winner takes it all...
Wait for the ricochet…

Privatised! Privatised, man.
What's qat?
Something you chew, I've read some liken it to betel/areca.
