Random Rants XVIII: It's cold as hell!

The good news is I have a new computer at work - they replaced it Friday when I was off. The bad news is I had to wait 30+ minutes for the techs to show up at work because they forgot to unlock my account to let me back in.

Now to reset all my passwords, reinstall a bunch of programs, and bug the techs some more to get access to some other programs. They were asked to install all the same programs they put on my officemate's computer, but of course they didn't. Here's hoping they remember where they eventually found the necessary software and licenses...

I hate this cold/flu season, since I have almost have sick for half of the time. While some were mild and not affected work, the last to illnesses have been very draining and this one that I have right now has been the worst illness I have had for many years. It is extremely frustrating to have been so sick so often.

I'm so tired of Stainless Steel's insistence on denying me Fortresses and Citadels. It always seems like I'm fighting most of the game with Spear and Archer Militia, yet somehow the enemy can afford to have full armies of Mailed Knights or Tabar infantry or Ghulams???

In other news, the Kwarazaemians can suck my junk. This is complete BS. There's no way I can be expected to make headway against someone whose four unit, 500 man armies are rated higher than a full stack the best of my (Byzantine) units. None of my cities are growing vaguely fast, much less the castles, and when they do I don't have the money to spend to actually expand them because it all goes towards building new armies for the Fatamid/Kwarazaemian meat grinder.

No, they're not. Planck units are most certainly not arbitrary.

Also 32 and 212 are far more arbitrary than 0 and 100.

And failing that, outside of the specific unit of scale, Kelvin certainly isn't arbitrary.

My prof spent the entire class today trying (and failing) to explain how the area of the bar on a bar graph can also be used to represent its value. It's an extremely simple concept that he completely messed up. At the end, he just shrugged and we all left.
I'm wasting a lot of time and money on this class. The only reason I go anymore is because I have no idea what is going to be on the midterm.
