I live on the edge of thousands of square miles of desert where even a shallow unmarked grave is very unlikely to ever be disturbed...or so I've heard.
I disagree. The reason bodies are traditionally buried at a depth of 6 feet is to contain the odor of decaying flesh. A shallow grave in the Mojave will be detected by desert scavengers, dug up, and eaten.
