Random Raves X: Success Tactics

Had my weekly two hour Russian and former Soviet state politics calss today (which is rave worthy in itself :D) and learned of a Georgian government scheme that funds people to come and teach English. Flights, accommodation paid for and an average salary. Its a year long so it would be a big commitment. Nevertheless its very enticing. Georgia is a fascinating country and the lecturer raves about it, and hes been all over the former USSR and Russia. Also its between the Middle East and Russia, two regions that are on the top of my list to see. Just look at this landscape:

My wife's best friend is doing that in Seoul right now. I say go for it.

Yeah theres a lot of opportunities in Korea that I am considering, they included airfare and accommodation too. I'm not as interested in the region though.

My brother is in Vietnam teaching English now, so I have to one up him by going somewhere more unusual. Korea would only equal him. Unless I could get into North Korea.

Latin America? It would allow you to learn Spanish.

Also a good plan. Theres doesn't seem to be as many opportunities there as Asian countries for some reason though. Probably because theres a lot of people who can speak Spanish and English as opposed to only English.

Ah, yeah. But maybe you could learn the basics of the language and say that you speak it a little...

What are you going to do when Russia invades again?

Cower in fear with everyone else and/or run away. What other options would there be?

Fall in love with a Georgian girl, and when Russia invades you join the Georgian army and help them heroically defend Tiblisi against the Russian horde and in the end through some stroke of plot point, you win and learn a valuable story about love, honor, and how humans are all the same and environmentalism.

In other words, his charred corpse will be bulldozed into a mass grave and no one will care.

:)

The difference between Avatar and Hurt Locker summed up in the above 2 posts ^ and why Hurt Locker deserved to win.

Thats plans B and C covered. :goodjob:

Or he conspires with the Georgian girl with the Russians for both wealth in the new country and protection for her and her family.
