If they're roaming around pillaging, we can paint them as bandits and thieves. However, it's good to upgrade our archer just in case.

How long until our mace finishes? And in how many turns can we get the leftover army to arrive from the Balkans?

Indeed, if they pillage they also have forfeited their rights. We need to be seen as the valiant defender of the realm rather than the 'evil suppressors' of any opposition

EDIT: We have to look at this from a strategic point of view. The only way we will not suffer a negative event is if we play it mercifully and cleverly.

We announce that the soldiers will be tried for inciting a riot and make it known that all Copperheads are not held responsible for it. We say that they are free to form their own band of 'troops' and we will not infringe upon that right unless they attack our cities or our improvements.

Then its all up to them and if they go against us, we can crush them AND be on the right side of public opinion!

:shake: Ever heard of Freikorps?

They already have attacked. Our troops that incited the earlier riot should be tried for it, but remember; this isnt just a continuation of the riot.

After all, the riots had already ended, and then the Copperheads choose to attack local garrisons and steal their weaponry.

Look, my reading of the situation is that LH has put this event there for us to over-react to it and be punished. We kill them and they become martyrs, they kill themselves against us and they are fools.

My suggestion isn't perfect but we need to be thinking outside the box on this.

If we don't overreact, the Copperheads incite revolution, and they kill us against us and we are fools.

It really is a no-win situation. No matter what we do, there will be negative consequences for England. We may as well just hold a little vote on this, do whatever wins, and hope it works.

We could. Except we're not. Autocrat, remember? ;) We're upgrade the Archer to Crossbowman, bringing in anti-Melee units, giving the Copperheads one more chance to surrender and get off the hook, and killing any who don't lay down their arms. They did slaughter English troops and they are in state of armed rebellion. Who started this no longer matters; restoring order is what must be done.

In other news, the Plan should be ready for submission tonight. The forums have hardly worked for me for the last couple of days (must be Civ V's release), so I haven't been able to get it all written up yet.

If you refuse to post the plan before you send it, could you at least post your plan after you send it?

I will most likely be posting it publicly after I have submitted it, but it will be posted. Obviously, I'm not running for Mr. Popular here.

So you won't be posting the plan before you submit it?

May I ask why you do not wish to post the plan before you send it?

To prevent a MathNerd-esque situation where we spend weeks trying to find non-existing problems.

:)

I'm not asking for votes or any other fancy system of democracy. However, the people of England deserve to know what is going on within their government.

The people of England do deserve to know what will happen. This is required in any functioning democracy. The way that President Whosit has it set up, we don't get to know, because the Government can handle the situation far better than us little non-administration Realpolitikers.
In fact, this arrangement threatens the very foundation of our democracy. Without everyone getting an equal voice in the process of decision-making, we may as well ditch the name Realpolitik and call this "England SG".

I call on President Whosit to post this plan before he sends it to respect the wishes of the people and the very character of this democracy.
